To avoid the polygamy laws, the men each have one official wife, and the others are "spiritual wives". The women who are legally unmarried ahev been drawing welfare from the state as unwed mothers. If the fathers are identified then the state can go after them for back child support paid to the mothers in the form of welfare aid. Also, they could be hit for the statutory rape charges on the underage mothers. so they will do all they can to confuse the issue.

I'm just glad there is a thread where we are allowed to criticize religion in. Islam is the true plague of humanity. Christianity is old news and to the degree it effects world affairs these days it is a fairly benign one compared to Islam. Islam enslaves half a billion women. Pedophilia and buggery are integral parts of the Islamic cultures of the Middle East and have been for as long as anyone can remember. We don't even need to bother to compare the murder and cruelty going on all over the world, right now, in the name of Islam vs Christianity. Islam is a horribly retrograde ideology and it should be isolated like a plague.

Christianity is fun to pretend to get all upset and rightously indignant about because it has very little real relevance.

If the government wants to knock off some religious freaks they should get off their asses and do something about this for example. As far as I know these freaks are still allowed to do whatever they want.

when you listen to some of these mothers, it is so apparent they are so programed that it would take years to get them on track. they can not, or will not address a direct question when asked if there is underage sex going on. watching a couple of women who excaped explain what they had to go through to get their wits about them, you can see the pain in their eyes knowing just how bad the situation is with so many mothers and children that are messed up.

i'm glad the judge is not returning the children at this point. i just don't trust these women. i would hate to see another Jones Town. that may be a streach, but I would not want to take that chance when dealing with a cult.

I'll have to go back and read that link, but as to this situation, religion is not the issue that caused the raid; child abuse is. It's not even about polygamy, at least not directly. The way they force underage girls into the lifestyle is the problem. Religious expression doesn't exempt you from the law of the land.

I still say that if David Koresh had bought more Jacksons and fewer M-16s he would still be quietly fucking all his cult's nubile females in Waco and preaching about the upcoming end. Hell, he'd probably be an endorsed Jackson artist by now if he sent his promo package in!

I recall seeing video footage of him playing a Jackson during all the coverage after the compound was burned down, yes. The binding and sharkies were the key, Carvin has never done either of those.
