I know a lot of you cats have been in the music industry in one form or another for many years. While most of my buddies were honing their chops and chasing tail, I was a little more conservative and decided it might be more productive to get an edjamacation, find a job that paid in currency rather than beer, and to pursue a woman that hadn't been holed out more than the public golf course. Boy, did I ever make the wrong choice!
Anyways, I've been afforded the opportunity to spend time with some brothers from another mother. These veteran musicians consist of music store owners, captains in the local fire department, and full time professional studio musicians. Most importantly, they are the dearest friends a guy could ever hope for!
For some of you older members who can remember when MTV actually played music, they used to have a segment/series called Battle Of The Bands. Do you remember a band called EXIT from Shreveport, LA? Well, they won the competition and now, over twenty years later, they have reformed as BUSHROD JENKINS! Tommorow night, they will open the show at Rumble On The Red featuring headliners Mark Farner (Grand Funk Railroad) and The Kentucky Headhunters!
Now, here's the exciting part. The guys in the band have asked me to handle all guitar tech work for tomorrow night's show! I'm so fucking stoked, I've packed and repacked my tech kit so many times, I've worn the callouses off my fingers! Wish me luck and if I happen to stumble and fuck up, I'll tell'em I'm a Platinum Member at the JCF and to kiss my cleanly shaven scrotum!
