At least the UK is cheaper than USA on ONE commodity... Funny thing is they stick bus fares up too. So much for the government's plan to get more people onto public transport.
    Fuck ebay, fuck paypal

Its easy to blaim the current pres but gas prices started climbing and the economy started falling at the end of Clinton's term
Gas prices started climbing when Nixon allowed the US to use more foreign oil than domestic.

Much of the economic boom of the 90's had to do with the "gee whiz" Internet stocks that were destined to fail when investors discovered just having a website does not equal profits.

Clinton left us with a tax revenue surplus (which is also not good) that BushJr managed to turn that into the largest deficit in US history in just five or six years (depending on whose math you want to believe).

What makes it really easy to "blame the current pres" for rising oil prices is that he (and his father) are raking in millions hand-over-fist with every penny increase in the price of oil products. So he has no incentive to do anything to reverse it.

Plus, BushSr also had a thing or two to do with the phony gas crisis of the late 70's.

Try putting 100 gallons into a boat at what is at least $0.50 more than street prices.
and I thought putting gas into the boat at $1.80 was expensive when I started boating... ugghh. I could buy a NICE Jackson USA for what I will put into gas over the next few months.

Well I hear alot of bitching but the truth is I don't see where anyone is slowing down on the roads. They still go past me at 80 or 90 mph, so I guess their not hurting yet.

Aint that the truth... I'll be damned if these people on the turn pike dont drive like its the freaking Indy 500. A few MPG means as much as $25 a month to me, so I stick to just about 70mph, which puts me at about 31mpg.

Here we are paying about $1.20/litre I think which is what close to $5 a gallon? And we export oil. It's just strange to me that Americans focus so much on what gas costs them. How about healthcare, I pay $44/month for my healthcare premiums. If I had a family it would be $88/month. What do Americans pay for healthcare coverage? I bet a lot more than what they spend on gas.

That maybe true, but you pay higher taxes then we do.

Who has the cheapest cost of living is not the point of my post. My point is why all the focus on gas? People get pissed about it because they think there is profiteering going on. I'm just saying there are other essential goods and services that people are profiteering from but people don't seem as concerned about them as they do gas.

Speak for yourself! I'm very troubled by the fact that prostitutes apparently cost $4000 per hour now. :ROTF:

I've had better looking hookers for far cheaper cost than that. Besides, £2k ($4k) would get me 2 USA Jackson guitars.
