Doro in Atlanta...lots of pics

Doro and her band played The Masquerade in Atlanta last night. Her set list included songs from the Warlock releases as well as some from her solo CD's that I was not familiar with. She did a solid 90 minute show. Both of her guitarists played Les Paul Standards. The lead guitarist played through a Framus head and he ran with a Vox Wah and a reverb pedal that I believe he used for leads. Halcyon Way, a local Atlanta band that my freind Sean is the lead singer, and a Swedish band called Fatal Smile were the openers.

I would compare Halcyon Way to Dio, Maiden, and Priest. Their lead guitarist, John, plays some really cool Brian Moore guitars. Sean, the singer, is heavily influenced by Dio, Halford, Dickinson, and Geoff Tate.

Fatal Smile are from Stockholm and they fucking rocked The Masquerade. They are a blast straight out of the sleaze, sex, booze, and drug induced 80's scene. They are like very early Crue, L.A. Guns, Faster Pussycat, Hanoi Rocks. The guitarist, his name is "Y", played a black Les Paul Custom with EMG's. I couldn't see the color of the EMG logo, so I asked him after the show which one's he was using, and he uses an 85 in the bridge and an 81 in the neck.

Kickass! I actually saw Doro at the Masquerade in 2000 with Dio and Malmsteen. She was great!

The Masquerade is one of my favorites places to see a show, The Tabernacle being my most favorite. She actually played downstairs in Hell. There were maybe 75 people at the show.
