50 shots into an unarmed man Not GUILTY

You have good people, you have bad people. You have good cops, you have bad cops. I support law enforcement and I realize they have a helluva responsibility. I also realize that not everyone who wears a badge is cut out for that type of a job.

I recently requested a "ride out" with our local fire department and was able to witness first hand the behavior of both our fire and police departments. It was quite an eye opener.

Spiv, yes I was in uniform I forgot to mention the aftermath in court. Me and my partner on duty both white and in uniform driving a black and white zone car. The asshole was found NOT guilty shooting at us, it was in "self defense". However the asshole was found guilty shooting at my black partner in plain clothes driving his cadillac..he got five year probabtion for that. The jury were mostly minorities. I vowed that would be my last time I went to court and I kept that promise! I refused to go to court since and I had endless arrests supeanoas since . Many prosecutors and judges threating me with warrants..I just told them "go ahead, I don't care..I have the shits"..

I had many friends/partners involved in scenarios exactly, if not worse shootings than this one...with white, hispanic and black suspects.

The worst was my good freind that shot a 16 year old breaking into his home when he and his family were sleeping. We have residency laws in Cleveland. He was allowed to move out of the city because of the amount of picketing and threats, and vandalism to his property.

One thing I discovered for certain without a doubt. White people are not too concerned whenever we shoot a dirty bastard, armed or not. Not the case with many of black people..which doesn't help their cause one way or the other.

Actually the older people do..but that is the case for the most part with the majority of people under age 35-40 or so. So very true.

Ironically, they send most of the white officers to the ghetto and black officers to the white areas. That is very very common. We don't have a say where we are assigned. We can type for different assignmnets/districts one we have 5 years or more..but it really hard to move out of a district..I know this.

Well the white cops don't get to choose what neighborhoods they're assigned to. In a city like Cleveland there will be more white cops than black, but most of the high-crime zones that require heavier police prescence are in black neighborhoods.

So your idea might be good in a Utopian world, but it's not very realistic.

Ok let me re phrase things. A white cop should move to a white area to be a cop because black people for the most part hate white cops. My cousin was a Memphis cop but left for the burbs of Memphis on the MS side. Hes alot happier now ..

That makes sense, but it sounds like he's still in the same general area, just the buirbs where crime is lower.

I imagine a lot of big-city cops do that if they can, but Bill's situation, for example, is that he grew up in cleveland, and his family and friends are there. So he became a cop in his home town, and dealt with the way things are there.

The ironic thing is that he was transferred out of the nasty hood and was on airport detail when he got the injury that forced him to retire, because some psycho lost his shit on an airplane.

A couple of years ago a couple of cops down here, in Wiggins, were killed in a domestic dispute. Small town, mostly white. The guy who killed them WAS black, though, but I don't know if that would have mattered. He disarmed the older, more experienced cop and shot him with his own gun, then shot the younger cop who was in his 20s.

I'm just saying that a cop can meet his maker in a flash even if he seems to be working in a "safe" place, because any trouble that does arise is going to cross their path. Those cops in Wiggins probably thought they'd tell the guy to calm down, then leave. But in fact he was a friend of the woman's husband, hubby was in the hospital, and he'd followed her home from the hospital planning to rape her.

So they weren't walking into what they thought it was, because the call was made by a neighbor who just heard noise and thought it was a husband and wife fussing. It was really an attempted aggravated rape and the suspect had been tom prison before, so he didn't have much to lose.

Strange thing is, after he killed them, he didn't hurt the woman and just went home to wait for a shitload of other cops to come arrest him. He didn't even try to run.

And the bastard didn't even get the death penalty either, just life without parole, for killing two police officers.

Police work is dangerous anywhere.
