  • My tentative court appearance

Well - jury selection started yesterday. It's expected to go basically all this week. I have been informed that I am tentatively scheduled to testify the afternoon of May 20. I have to call on Friday to verify that things are still on track. I got the normal reminder as well that I'm not allowed in the courtroom during jury selection or during any of the testimonies - other than mine of course.

Apparently yesterday all 3 of his kids were in the courtroom during the jury selection - all of them under 18. His wife doesn't get to be in there because she's on the witness list. I know why they are doing it, but I just don't understand why a mother would let the kids be used like that - I can't imagine how awful it all is for them.

I seen a blurb about it in the USA Today yesterday.
I hope it doesn't take too long, and he gets what is coming to him. I feel for his kids being used like that also.
You are in our thoughts. Thanks for the updates.

Man, you'd think the judge would see what was up with sending the kids in like that. You'd also think the prosecutor would complain to the judge about violating the intent behind keeping witnesses out of the courtroom by sending kids in to get information.

That should constitute contempt of court, quite frankly.... on the mother's part of course. The kids are pawns.
      Ron is the MAN!!!!

Lets hope the judge isnt "pro cop" as some tend to be. I wouldnt let the kids in there. They dont need to see any of it.

Well so far, out of all the motions filed, the judge only ruled in his favor on one - to allow him out of shackles in court.

It seems that there's an effort to make him look like the nice family man - see his kids, aren't they nice kind of thing. I just personally wouldn't want my kids in there to watch that stuff.
