Is "marriage" the literal word that you use in the Estonian language, Endrik? Is it the same word Estonians used thousands of years ago? And whatever word Estonians do use and have used through the ages, just because they were not always Christians doesn't mean that they didn't always have a religion. If you're saying that Estonians didn't have pre-Christian religions I'd guess that you're wrong. I'd also bet that they used different words for different kinds of unions.

I fully understood your point. I dispute your assertion. I was pointing out that it really has nothing to with their Christianity since people pick and choose which sacrilegious things they want to tolerate. As soon as you start treating the foundation of your faith like an a la carte menu you are making a conscious personal and/or collective choice. That sort of watered-down-pick-and-choose approach to religion and faith manifests itself as the foundation of the intolerance that festers in our churches.
