in all honesty it's exactly WHY we don't normally allow religious threads as well as political. It serves no purpose usually other than to alienate people. My belief has always been everyone should feel welcomed and comfortable enough to be able to get involved. When those types of threads portray a certain hostility people don't want to get involved.

We have all types of religious backgrounds as well as athiests... it should be fun regardless

I agree with you 100%. I had a real hard time when I voiced my views with some people..remember that!!

I'm the same guy...BUT I've learned not to offend many decent people here, its the nature of that beast(pun). People take their faith very seriously. So, Let them have it, especially if it helps make them a better person. Unfortunately, my beliefs is a 180 on ALL "white light" based faiths. It is FAR beyond athiesim, but it inspires me, and shaped who I am for better/worse. But I keep it to myself or amoung friends in person.

Now if >>I<< could do that, there is NO reason why others can't follow that example. Think about it..are they as outspkoken as I am? Do they share my belief system?..Nope!!! Then there is absolutely NO excuse why they can't bite they're tongues. People are so quick with their tongue until its face to face with the balloon knot of a hot momma..will they put it to use then..NOPE! !!

What..Freedom of speech/expression/..been there done that. Trust me, its not worth it not on this forum. You're not going to convert anyone or change their mind....write a song, or a book!

But, I haven't lost my sense of humor..that's obvious!

Exactly Bill ..you turned out to be a great guy ... but in the beginning we were all at odds over not understanding each other.

I have no issue with differences of opinion and if someone has faith to use in their life why should I judge them. The only time I get pissed off is when it is used in a hateful manner to persecute someone else for their views. We all are entitled to our beliefs ... kind of what makes this country great...

That's understandable, ~K~, but there is a slant against religious people here that y'all don't address. You will call people out for insulting gays or minorities, but people here can insult Christians with impunity, in their posts and in their sigs.

Consistency in not tolerating bashing of whole groups of people would be nice.........

Honetly Rich I'm not totally sure what you're talking about but let me point out a few things.

1) I got a pm about some "anti-god" sigs not long ago. I went and read the sigs and quiete honestly someone writing "I am god" or something to that effect doesn't hit the same level has calling someone a slur. We don't allow racism on the board so I'm not sure why you assume we should allow hateful epithets

2) We don't sit at the pc and read every post or every signature. If there is something offensive it really needs to be pointed out. Generally, you'll see us move "religious" threads because they are a lot more apparent. I had started scaling my time back here because of my change; I assumed the board didn't need the drama. I figured I'd just ride off into the sunset. So 95% of the time unless there was a complaint by pm, I'd have no idea if something was offensive.

You can't hold me or the other admins responsible for something we may not know about. I do my best to be fair but lets face it. If I have a member who is abrasive, has racist overtones and generally causes trouble come to me and complain about something so trivial then I really have to sit and scratch my head...

Well, I made a complaint or two, namely the Brian Welch ordeal and Korn and all the bash fest that went over multiple threads on this forum...Artist, General, I think there was at least one or two more sections that this rant carried on for pages and pages of just really offensive slamming about Christians, God, Christ, a persons changeover and major league hard core FU directed towards all. Nothing that I know of was ever done.

Let me tell you something...if all that which was posted about Brian W... was personally directed towards you in the same manner in this thread and your choices as individuals did towards Brian Welch and his choices as well communal Christian beliefs towards Christ and God, you would have done something because you have recently found comments, rants, a persons attitude or threads that are offensive even they are not directed personally at you...they were acted upon because it went against your beliefs and your sensibility of what was ok, and what is not. However, in that particular instance, I watched quite sickenly as it all played out and went down.

For the players...those who say...just let one believe what they want to believe and all will be fine...hmm, I would say that the attack was quite unprovoked on this person....did Christians on this board post anything about this initally to promote it? No, I do not believe so. It was a deliberate set-up for a bash God fest which played out over many separate topics and nobody stepped up on the admin side to rectify that.

Well although I wasn't about to go through 30 pages of responses, I will assume that the answers are regarding the thread title. All I can say about that is this: I have way more going on in my life than to worry about what two consenting adults do. This may be because I lived on Cape Cod as a kid for a few years and if you have ever been to Provincetown, you are constantly exposed to gays making out and holding hands and such. Seriously, I am nore worried about how I aam going to pay for heating oil this winter than what other people do and I think anyone else who thinks otherwise is a complete closed minded asshole. Hopefully but not reading the responses, I am not looking like an idiot posting this, lol.

As far as me posting what I did, I did it with the full intent of being ripped to shreds and resigning my post. I did not expect to be accepted with open arms .. And no I would not have gone on a banning or cleansing rampage.

My belief was that by the time my name was legally changed I would have handed in my keys here ...

Honestly, I don't see a whole lot of Christian bashing. Besides Rich, you brought Christianity into this discussion as a defense/reason for the laws against gay marriage. If you think I was Christian bashing then please point out what you think was bashing. All I was trying to do was refute your argument and point out the inherent hypocrisy in that because of the seemingly random choices by man to pick and choose the sacrilegious things to make laws about.

Keep in mind that I grew up as a Christian. I know I have spent more time and effort coming to terms with the Bible and my faith than most people that show up every Sunday. Most people I've encountered that consider themselves Christians have barely read the Bible and even then they have not taken the time to validate and/or challenge the interpretations presented to them every Sunday.
