I just have to share this, it's kinda kismet for this thread...

Here's the title track from Gary Hoey's new album, "Only Human". Kinda appropriate since Gary lives near Karyn...

Wow ..Gary is lookin kinda "badass" these days. I haven't kept up with him much since his first release "Animal Instinct". I listened to that the other day. His "Hocus Pocus" cover is classic and one of the very few instrumental shred songs that went mainstrean to MTV...That's where I heard it first. I will check out his new stuff...he's a great player for sure!

I've been kinda MIA.. taking care of stuff at home. I have much catching up to do...

          Donnie Swanstrom 01/25/06..miss ya!

"Well, your friend would have Bell's Palsy, which is a facial paralysis, not "Balls Pelsy" like we're joking about here." Toejam's attempt at sensitivity.

I think it was you that asked me to sign up over there. My memory fails sometimes but that's how I remember it. They were doing some kind of contest? Sound familiar? If not, I may be losing my mind.

Much respect K for opening up about this, and much respect to all the JCF who have showed a high level of maturity and acceptance.
Since you said you are planning on the surgical route, I have on favor to ask. After the surgery, can you let us know what it's like to perform the majority of rational thought with your brain?

:ROTF: Actually I can already answer this and I don't need surgery to say this. After 2 years of hormones it's totally awesome!
Don't worry - I'll smack her if it comes to that. You do not sell guitars to buy shoes. You skimp on food to buy shoes! ~Mrs Tekky 06-03-08~

Do you tend to go shopping a lot more than you used to do, and spend 2 hours to get dressed? these are the worst parts that I can think of

                    • I think the scary point will come when you start thinking of selling guitars so you can afford more shoes...

                              • This is only a problem in our society because we have very old ideas about sexuality and gender.

It's a struggle when anyone doesn't fit into what's proscribed (and I've had close friends dealing with similar if not the same issues).

But what's proscribed relies so much on older notions of what's normal and proper. And now our ideas about gender and sex are being blown out of the water as we learn more about genetics, biology but also sociology--not to mention what happens when we mess around and "choose" our children's sex with modern science. In the future, all this will seem normal and people won't have to suffer for not fitting into two neat little boxes called male or female.
