A little bit of a double standard on the part of some of those who have been critical of not being open-minded and respectful of others' beliefs, don't you think? Why is it OK to mock someone's religious beliefs -whether you subscribe to them or not - but not OK with sexual identity issues? Either you're open-minded and respectful, or not.

Exactly why we pulled our kids out of public schools and started home schooling them. Brain washing at a young age is a very dangerous thing. Brain washing in itself is why so many organized religions exist today. The kids never have the chance to make a decision on their own. Fuck religion, and that's just the way I feel about it.My goal in life is to be the kind of asshole my wife thinks I am.

The Romans killed Jesus because the Sanhedrin (Jewish priesthood) didn't want Jesus being acclaimed king of the Jews. Herod was the king the Romans recognized, under their overlordship. The Romans did the execution because only they were authorized to carry out executions at the time.
Now the British and French armies, if they'd acted in the mid-1930s, COULD have stopped the Holocaust from happening, but they chose to ignore the rumors of death camps.
Hindsight is 20/20; I'm sure the rumors sounded too horrible to believe at the time.Ron is the MAN!!!!

Lerx,
I have one more question for you if you'd be so kind.
In the Old Testiment, God interacts with the humas quite a bit. That's the impression I get, I've never read it. But you put out the Pilar of Salt story with Lots wife and how God told them to split before it hit the fan.
What's the theory on why he's so silent now days? He seemed to be pretty hands-on in the begining but not so much now. I wonder what's your theory behind that.
Again, I'm asking for my own personal knowledge. Not trying to prove a point or catch you in anything.
Just curious.I'm angry because you're stupid

One school of thought on that is that the "7 days" of creation are not literal 24 hour days...they are figurative meaning only a certain period of time. For example, animals were not created in 24 hours...they were created and allowed to evolve over many years. Same with the heavens and earth, etc. Many believe that the 7th day when God rested is still upon us.
It has also been said that god was interactive in those days because he needed to be to spread his word. Once the word was out and Jesus died upon the cross, there was no longer a need for him to interfere...man had his directions.
I think the best anyone can do is research these things for themselves, while remembering that our limited human intelligence very well likely cannot always comprehend the complexities of divinity. Just because certain things don't seem to make sense, don't be too quick to dismiss them without delving deeper. Relying on what "seems" right is a fools game in both science and religion.
