I am not gay and borderline homophobic. I used to think Gay marriage was wrong not christian blah blah blah... but you know what, I dont want the goverment to ammend the constitution to say it is wrong. They should have done it in the first place in 1776.

I just want my civil rights not to be trampled on anymore and if a couple is productive regardless of sex give them a tax break. I really dont want the government to dictate anymore what anyone does behind closed doors.

I am sick of all these illegal searches and intrusions by our government for our "security" I just want them out of my life and they can keep their damn socialized medicine. I just want my civil rights and thats it, they can keep their handouts to themselves. I can do fine by myself.

They actually didn't get it right in 1776. The Constitution was written in 1787 after 10 years under the Articles of Confederation.

Christians are also taught it's wrong to have sex before marriage. Though, if a woman has sex and a baby out of wedlock, they're considered whores and the baby is a bastard, but yet they're not supposed to have an abortion. Explain that one to me.

Well, by that token, we shouldn't have laws protecting unborn children when the mother is murdered, endangered, etc. That's the part NO ONE wants to touch in that debate.

As for the topic at hand, I think it's good for ~K~. You got to do what makes you happy. Yes I am a late comer to the topic. And being a Catholic, it may seem liberal, but if you came that way, and that's what you're doing is makes you happy, more power to you. I hope that didn't come off as TOO offensive.

Yeah, until your wife gets bone cancer and racks up doctor bills more than the million dollars of coverage your insurance policy will cover. Go to any industrialized nation that provides universal health care for its citizens (which is to say, everybody but US) and ask anybody there if they'd like to go to a privatized system like ours. You will get a series of resounding HELL NO's.

But seriously, where'd you pull that one from? What does this topic have to do with universal health care?

I am sorry I should have gave some background. Governement proposed socialized medicine would open the door to mandatory AIDS testing and drug testing. I read over Hillary's and Obama's proposals and got that out of them. It could also open the door for mandatory RF chipping in the future and refusal could cause loss of benefits including SSI. It will open the door for really bad things.

I just read a story of how someone in Canada died from Gall Bladder failure after three days since they could not get a surgeon. Medicar and Medicaid is fine for some and I pay for my own insurance. I have had family members who were terminal and they were on health plans got most of the stuff covered but it varies from policy to policy. Yeah the system sucks now but I do not want the GOV in my life.

ETA depends on what Canadian you ask. I have had some Canadian's that are vey conservative say the system sucks others like it.
