I don't really have a favorite, but I definitely know what I don't like: the generic "stuggling team turns it around with help from a washed-up coach" movies (see every Disney sports movie ever made).

I forgot Wildcats (it's on Vs.) and I dont know if it would fall into a sport movie but I always loved watching the first Endless Summer.

The greatest sports film is of course "Olympia" made by the greatest propaganda director in the history (I don't consider Eisenstein to be a propaganda director) Leni Riefensthal in Nazi Germany in 1938. Before she was directing for the nazis she was also an actress and starred in the most important mountain film "Die Weiße Hölle vom Piz Palü" made in 1929 by Arnold Fanck and brilliant G.W. Pabst. If one considers alpinism sport.
