Me, my girlfriend, a friend of mine and his girlfriend are visiting NY and Boston in august, travelling from Norway,
and since this is a forum filled with musicians, I wonder if you could help me out a little bit

First things first...
Where in NY do you recomend me to go for guitar and guitarrelated gear shopping? Any second hand dealer or things I should check out? Any particualr guitar dealers you recomend? I will be lookin for Jackson, Gibson, Seymour Duncan hums, sennheiser wireless and other stuff...


And...
Do you recomend any tattoo shops in NY? Looking into getting a tattoo, or maybe two.. It's insanely expensive here in Norway, but I don't kno how the prices are over there?
A clean place with good artists are preferred

If you are downtown Manhatttan(sp?), 48th street has some shops. Cheap by Norway standards, but I'd probably go for Matt's if I was serious. I'd love to get that Copperhead SL2H he's been showing.

In NY, if you want Jackson porn, the Music Zoo is less than an hour train ride onto Long Island from central station followed by a short (10 minute) walk in Little Neck:

The Guitar Asylum is miles out on Long Island. If you have a car, no problem. If not...

The stores on 48th street in Manhattan, including Manny's, are all owned by big corporations. Wasn't a lot of J/C stuff there last time I was in NY, but pretty big range of other guitars.

Paul Booth is the most recognized name in tatooing in NY...however I think there is a tremendous waitlist...as far as other shops theseare what was recommended by New York magazine....

Any place special to look for second hand guitars? Little low on cash so far, but hope it turns out better when august is coming. Anyway... hope to find som cheap gear if things do not turn out that way..

Thinking about going to the Cruefest there.
How far is it? And if some of you have been there... how is the arena, and what seat do you recommend? or is the lawn a good place to see the show?

I'm not sure if there is public transportation from Port Authority to the PCN Art Center, try njtransit.com maybe? If you have a car, it's about and hour, give or take, from Manhattan depending on traffic.
