  • Green Jello last night Pop's- Sauget Illinios

I was a bit disappointed. No more stage show, they didn't play many classics, and most of the newer stuff sounds like every other band in the hardcore metal type scene.

I won free tickets, and I still feel like Green Jello let me down. WTF?

The two opening bands I thought were actually more enjoyable. I can't remember the names for the life of me.

But ya know... whatever I support them for going on all these years with the revolving door of 200 and something members.

Are they the band that did the Little Pigs song?

More of a joke band, aren't they?

Yeah, they did that song. I wouldn't label them as a joke band- that particular album was VERY diverse musically..it had grunge, metal, rockabilly, jazz and funk all on one album.
they were/are very humor based- but I wouldn't call them a "joke" by any means.

But I'm a huge GWAR fan... so maybe I see it differently.

OK, maybe not a joke band. But when the only song you are known for is a nursery rhyme, you can see how I got confused.

I have that CD around here somewhere. I'll have to give it another listen.

Haven't heard that name for years... Do they call themeselves Green Jello now? I thought they changed to Green Jelly because J-E-L-L-O is copyrighted by the food company. I think it made the first pressing of the CD slightly unique.

The Merch says Green Jelly but the shows are generally promoted as green Jello..... and yes the lawsuit was real (Kraft foods, which is really ridiculous as they are in no way producing a similarity of any form) they were also sued by Metallica (sue'em all!) I have the first pressing somewhere myself...classic.

They claim while it's spelled Jelly the umlaut or whatever it is they put over the Y makes it still be pronounced Jello. lol

LOL I haven't listened to them in years! I've got the Green Jello CD somewhere around here. I also remember the lawsuit and they had to change their name to Green Jelly and change the name on the CDs.

Danielle Stampe (Slymenstra Hymen from GWAR) referred to them as "baby rock music" and said she didn't like "baby rock." There were a couple of good tracks on the second record, the ones sung by the blonde girl (can't think of her name right now). Last I heard, they were developing a kid's show. That's been... 12 or 13 years ago, though.
please don't put it into words, 'cause I fear what you're thinking

They also had a video for Cereal Killer that General Mills sued them over because it showed the Trix bunny decapitating Snap, Crackle, and Pop, as well as several other cereal characters ("Toucan, Son Of Sam")

I've got the "Jello" CD but the VHS has "Jelly", and the Cereal Killer video isn't on there
