hi guys,
just cruisin' through here to say hi and all.
hope everybody is rockin' right along.

i'm enjoying the summer out here in my little mountains with my fam and buddies.
playing a lot, took a break from teaching for the summer, painting my damn house (big project, as it's a victorian, but worth it!)

no new gear news (well, i did pick up a Marshall for my acoustic, but y'all wouldn't be interested in that, right? HA!)
thinking about finally finally getting one of those pods, but i'm such a pure tone snob i dunno... i dunno! ah hell.

Hi Em! Good to hear from you! Hey, get a POD and think of it as a toy - like a Walkman for your electric guitar. You could walk down to the river with it and your electric, and get a different experience than playing acoustic at the river.

thinking about finally finally getting one of those pods, but i'm such a pure tone snob i dunno... i dunno! ah hell.

I have a DSL100 1/2 stack at home, but when on the road, a little POD 2.0 does a good job to pass the time. I picked it up for $110 - about the price of a decent pedal. I use good quality headphones and it doesn't sound 1/2 bad. I haven't been as happy listening to it from cheap PC speakers. Haven't tried a good quality system yet.

I congrat you on painting - too much work for me. I love Victorians, but I'd never have the time to keep them up. It's all about zero maintenance now, the more brick the better.

Fly- actually, yes. i'm working on a new release right now. music is all written and mostly recorded, but still have some work to do on it yet. this will be a full-length and quite different from the silly EP. i'm touched that you have my music spinning in your iPod. THANKS! :o)

Rich and Don - how come i didn't know that you can play with the pod like that? you can hook headphones up to it and just rock out? ah hell yes. wow... okay now i'm sold. that'd be a helluva lot easier than dragging my baby gorilla of a Boogie around. hahaha! hmm.

damned cold today! An inch of ice on the windscreen of the wife's car this morning - I'm just glad I get to park my new wheels in the garage.

If you get a floor pod, won't that make wandering down to the river with your electric more cumbersome? I've been wanting to try on of those Amplug thingos for casual outdoor playing
