In what way is Jason Becker underrated?

I pretty much think ANY rock/metal guitarist acknowledges that he was mindblowing.
You took too much, man. Too much. Too much.

Jason Becker is beyond underrated for what has recorded, if any becker discussion is ever brought up by any guitarist that's not extremely obsessed with him, it's always "Yeah, I heard that song altitudes". There are so many better songs off that album... He should be put up with the best players, because he sure as hell was one of the best guitarist ever.

He's praised by Becker junkies such as myself, and that's about it.

Michael Hedges was awesome. RIP Aerial Boundaries was the only thing I had from him.

I have recently been made aware of a French player named Cristophe Godin. He plays in a number of bands, but the only one I've been able to check out so far is Morglbl. The guy's scarey good - kinda Zappa-esque jazzy madness with Vai, Holdsworth and Beck, plus a good measure of Vernon Reid metal.
Endrick, if you're out there, I reckon this would be right up your street!
