Neither are Linux users, currently. I emailed him and asked if he'd had plans to port it (or if someone was doing it for him); apparently that's in the works. In the mean time we can use BP through wine (though I truly don't like wine).

I took a moment and looked to see if there was a wine-like application for you Mac users; this is what I found: http://www.softpear.org/wiki/Index.php If you're unfamiliar with what wine does, it's a tool that gives Linux users a shell-like native Windows environment.

I downloaded it. It's great. Much better than winDOSE media for this app. I was thinking about getting one of those guitar trainer mp3 players but just haven't let go of the 200.00 to do it. Maybe I'll wait awhile and use this instead. Thanks for the hook up.

you should put it off a LOT longer. Playing at 1/2 the speed, the quality is no where as good as this software seems to sound. I have a Boss MicroBR ($220) which has that slowing down feature and it sucks! You cant comprehend anything under 70% speed. I've heard the newer Tascam MP3 learner sucks even more. It will not accept any mp3's which are sampled higher than 120 or something. I forget the numbers but basically if you have a high quality mp3, it will not work at slowing it down and in some cases it will not even play it !

That figures. I'm glad I decided to wait then. It was the Tascam that I was looking at, and the main reason I was thinking about it was because my job takes me out of town sometimes and I thought it would be handy to plug in and practice with it. But for now, I'll be ok with my laptop and a small practice amp..

Native Instruments Guitar Rig does a fairly good job with transposing tempo and pitch and is cross platform.
