The real funny thing, actually, is that this Cyanide cartoon is probably mocking the mockers, not the band.

aah, I see. The humour is clearly operating on a higher level than these mere metalheads can grasp. However, if they'd open their minds to other forms of music (like, say, free-form anarchic techno, for example), they might have the mental acuity to pick up on the latent irony in the cartoon.

Or the cartoon could just be expressing the frustration that many 'Tallica fans have apparently felt with their last album. I couldn't say - I'm not a fan and haven't heard the whole album. I did hear the snare drum (garbage can lid?) that drowned out the rhythm guitars though. The drummer apparently drowned out all the lead guitar on the album too.
