  • Multiple hernia surgery Friday

Well, I got the good news last week. Not only is my umbyical hernia gonna get patched, but I have a couple more in my abdomen further up. I go under the knife Friday at 11am. I know this is generally not a big deal nowadays, but I dont have a good feeling about this surgery. Wish me luck folks and hopefully Saturday morning I will be posting and totally wasted on pain meds, lol.

I had a hernia above my navel(sp?) that was about a 3-4" split in the abdominal sheath. I did day surgery and if you have the option I would recommend staying overnight. That car ride home was pure hell. Once I got home I was taking hydrocodone like it was no one's business and fealing no pain. Dont sweat it though. The sedative they give you is the shit and you will be totally relaxed when they wheel you in there. Heal time is a bit rough as it is hard getting up and down (especially the can), but it's manageable.

I hate to hear you blew both gaskets, not good.
I blew a gasket years back and had the delightful surgery experience.
Healing is a royal pain, no fun.
Healing is key with Hernia surgerys, got to take it easy and never do anything that can jeopardize the surgery or you'll be right back in having the surgery again.
                  Do what the doctors says.
Just mellow out for the next 8 weeks or so.

I blew my groin gasket and that set me down and mellowed me out about 10-12 weeks. I was so ready to spend some quality time with my wife.
Even the first couple of times with the wife I had to go easy the hernia was still sensitive/tender. Just take it easy bro. Listen to your body, your body will tell that's enough or you've done too much and follow the doctors orders and you should be good to go in no time.

My father had one done years ago- at least 20. No problems since. If it gets done right & you listen to your docs, you'll be just fine.
