    1) they are only paying his salary for the next 2 months which is the remainder of the contract ($7 million)

    2) There's no cap in baseball. There is a luxury tax though which amounts to revenue sharing over a certain amount..
Don't worry - I'll smack her if it comes to that. You do not sell guitars to buy shoes. You skimp on food to buy shoes! ~Mrs Tekky 06-03-08~

      Ahh, I see...

Wanna buy a goalie? He's won a Stanley Cup. Just $6,750,000 a year...

well Todd overpaid is certainly true but to be fair the Blackhawks havent been a good defensvie club in a long while. Maybe now with Bowman in the mix that will change. Gonna be a good season next year for the Hawks, lotta young offensive talent...getting them playing both ways and they can make a good run

I agree. The defense has been horrible. But from what I've seen of this past year and past summer, things are on the upswing. I'm not ready to bost that the Stanley Cup is coming to Chicago this year, but my expectations are the playoffs. (and more than a first round 4 and out)

Sorry guys, we'll return you to your baseball talk.
