I brought up your caption to prove a point. I had no problem with what you or I wrote in this thread. (Well, one post was pointed out as being unsensitive and I agreed on that one)

A point is trying to be proved by a few. A few that are still carrying the torch for those that have been banned. That's all. Pure internet bullshit.

So please don't censor yourself on my behalf. If you did, you'd take out about 85% of the humor in this place.

Ahhh late to the party. I'm retired because 220+ passengers on a plane watched in horror as a intoxicated male proceeded to severely beat the flight crew..including two females and one co-pilot. NOBODY did anything to stop his actions..except for the co-pilot. Therefore that flight was diverted to Cleveland where I met with that asshole. Nobody help me as I headbutted the asshole about thirty times ..just trying to keep the asshole down. That's how I injured my neck..Everyone cheered when I beat and arrested that asshole. That's it..they cheered...while remaining seated.

I don't have ANY faith in people..they're pussies when push comes to shove. I respect anyone making an effort to do the right thing..but people MUST know their potential and limitations.

In NY a gym teacher had noticed the needle marks on the student's arms and has been acting erratically in recent weeks. The teacher reported this to the principal, who in turn notified the student's parents.
It has turned out that the student was a diabetic. The needle marks were from his insulin injections and the erratic behavior was the result in a recent change in his insulin dosage.
The student and his parents sued the teacher and the school for defamation of character.

It is sad when laws have to be passed aimed to alleviate worries by “Good Samaritans” that they could be sued for helping someone who is seriously injured.

Ive got kids too... and you know what? That dude that got killed was sombodys son. Someones boyfriend. Someones best friend. His parents probably looked at him as an infant with the same unconditional love that you (hopefully) look at your kids with. He was somebodys baby and now hes dead.

Sure, its easy to say "Id help" but talk is cheap. I wouldnt have been able to live with myself knowing that there was something that I could have possibly done. What if that was your son or daughter getting cut up? Would you have wanted someone to help them? I know DAMN WELL that I would if it were mine. .

You are saying someone, Bengal for example, had he been in the vicinity, should have put his own life on the line to help someone who was to all intents and purposes already dead? So he should leave his own family without a father/husband for the same end result, i.e. that kid still dies only now Bengal does too just so he could feel better about "helping"?
Bullshit. If there's a chance to help then fine, but if knifes and shit are involved then fuck that, why should someone take that chance?
I also have a little daughter and I wont be telling her to help out ANY CUNT. I'll be telling her to run like fuck if there's ever any trouble, make sure she's alright herself. Fuck everyone else. Including you.

Look at the old guy that got plowed by the speeding car a couple weeks ago. Nobody even stopped to divert traffic for 10-15 minutes while the guy is laying in the middle of the street. It amazes me that we are the most powerful country in the world. We're scared of our own friggin shadows and we all have such fragile feelings.

I cant help but think of the airplanes that were taken over with box cutters on 9/11! Its amazing that a few people with box knifes could end so many lives. There was one airplane that did not make its destination though. Some humans are filled with the capacity to give their life so that others may live. What about the firemen who died that ran into the towers to save people only to have the building collapse on them? What about the soldier who falls on the grenade so the rest of his platoon can live? What about the Nurse that died helping people when a piece of concrete fell from a blown-up federal building in Oklahoma city? Heroes are not so uncommon, they walk amongst us ever day. If you have no compassion for anyone but yourself so be it. Rob has the right to speak his mind like anyone else on here.

I'll second that AMEN! I was raised to help people in need. I've helped stranded motorists, I've performed CPR at a ball game, and I've helped motorists that were injured. Fact is, I could have lost everything I own if some nutcase fabricated a bullshit claim against me. I will continue to help, but I'm damn careful in what I do or don't do.

An orthopedic doctor friend of mine was making rounds at a local hospital. As he was leaving a patient's room, he heard a commotion in the next room, so he stuck his head in the door and saw a man gasping for air. The patient was chocking on his own vomit. He rushed in and was able to clear the man's throat enabling him to breath. Basically, he saved the man's life.

Once the man fully recovered from his illness, he was released from the hospital and almost immediately filed suit against the hospital and the doctor who saved his life. He stated that even though the doctor "helped" him, he was not his doctor and he was unfamiliar with his medical history. He also stated that the hospital was negligent in monitoring his care. Last I heard, the case was settled out of court to prevent further damage to my doctor friend's reputation. The man he saved, well at one time, I had a lot of respect for this "guitar legend." Now, I wouldn't piss on him or his signature Teles if they were on fire.

I think we are mixing two very different issues.

First one was mine quoted by Rob where I said that my wife was pissed for me getting involved in a domestic dispute because I have kids. Her best friend was Russ's girlfriend, the guy who got shot interupting a domestic. So she has a right to feel that way. Rob called people like me as being the reason America sucks or something like that. Whatever.

I had also said that I didnt think I would have rushed back there to help this guy who was probably dead anyway.

But some are bringing up the passengers on Flight 93 and nurses and firemen and stuff like that. Totally different senerio. Totally different deal. Firemen and nurses are just doing their job. The passengers on Flight 93 knew they were going to die either way. Completly different situation.

I'll say again what I've said before, hard to say what I would do in a situation like that. But I would take into account that I have 2 kids that needs a father. If that makes me a selfish prick, so be it. I'm a selfish prick.

I will also say that the thought of 2 or 3 people pulling out guns and firing away scares the shit out of me as much as a knife weilding guy like this one. If that offends, so be it.

Seems to me that if a lot of those that show a big interest in protecting the guy in the bus would turn themselves into police officers, we'd have some great officers here.

But I would have no problems doing what was needed to help a fellow person in distress. Maybe I have not stated that well enough.
