If he can find another family member who will claim to be in the Hells Angels since the weapons in question had HA's logos and insignia on them...and Vince was claiming to be a member.

The other sticky social issue for Vince will be when someone from the Mongol's club gets wind of Vince calling them all out as pussies in the HCAF thread where he pledges allegiance to the the Hells Angels....right now Vince is practicing his sweep kicking chops in the holding tank :ROTF:

He really did that??? Wow. I imagine most real bikers would probably ignore purely Internet trolling, unless there's money involved. But you have to be pretty whacked to even think of getting caught in the middle of that stuff.

Do the Mongols reach all the way to the East Coast? I thought they were mostly California-based.

I know there are Pagans in Jersey. According to the Mongol's website they have chapters in Maryland, Florida & Virgina. Quick trip up 95.

How can someone tell the cops, "the guns belong to a friend of mine". Don't they have the serial numbers and the owner of the gun in the license records? How does it work?
          I wish my hair-color was EDS :/

Speaking strictly for NJ, every handgun is purchased on its own seperate permit and the records are kept. Now, since he had a prior felony conviction, he would not be allowed to own or carry a firearm. I am thinking that even if they are unregistered or belonged to someone else, and they were found in his posessions, they could stick him with them.

Only if gun registration is required by state law. Gun store always keeps 4473 forms on all NEW pistols and long guns sold. So it is easy to trace origins of most firearms.

Pistols and long guns can be bought and sold between private parties without any paperwork but they must reside in the same state. Also the state they reside in must allow paperless transfer. I think Cali/NY/NY and IL are the ones were you cannot do this for handguns.

He is looking at 10 years for being a felon with a handgun. They will probably plea bargin all the other charges and stick him with the most seriuos charge.

Whoa. It looks SO MUCH simpler than how it works here. Even for a simple double barreled shotgun, you need lots of documents, including a psychiatry report.

Wonder if Vince was Dave's inspiration when he wrote "Almost Honest"?

You gotta think those guitar tech skills will come in handy with all those rusty trombones he's gonna cross paths with.

Yeah, but now they'll have to have some friends on the inside, won't they?

BTW, in the course of my work I saw a Connecticut court opinion recently that dealt with prison guards who were quite chummy with the Outlaws. Apparently the Hell's Angels/Outlaws rivalry is quite intense inside the joint in Connecticut. Dave's Favorite Guitar Tech better hope he didn't publicly talk any trash about the Outlaws...

Here's a link about the case:

During the holiday period, the Second Circuit issued a long (and I do mean LONG -- 77 pages!) decision regarding whether Connecticut corrections officers

Here in NJ you need a permit whether the hand gun is new or used OR from a shop or private seller.
