That fucker is a HUGE piece of metal history. I fucked up and passed on one of Michael Anthony's JD basses that was in splinters for 2K about 10 years ago..but this is much bigger than that..MOF..AJFA...classic tours...wow!

That fucker is worth big $$$. Not that James needs it, but it is part of their history. Its an amazing gesture..needless to say. He always comes off as kind of a dick alot of times..He was cool when I escorted them, but he was the most distant at that time.

This puts me in mind of Ed's VHII guitar in Dime's coffin'...but that was a little more heartwrenching and all.

On the live pic I can't see the brindge pickup because of James hand but the neck pickup desn't look like the one on it now, but I don't think it's an EMG either. Where those the pickups that James used back then? And if so, what model Anderson pickup is it?

That guitar just oozes Metallica, you could feel James riffing those songs in the studio and live... just crazy hair on your arms standing up light headed cool!!!

They were pretty tight back in the day, don't know if he and james still are. My buddies got all kinds of cool metallica stuff (pics, laminates, platinum black album framed iraa deal), he called me and said he was taking it in to guitar electronics for some work and for me to take "extra special care of it". So my first question was... can i play it after it's done?

He used to watch my band Motive back in the day and we always played a metallica cover... just for him.

I have Battery on dvd from our cd release party in 2005, i should edit it and throw it on youtube..
