AJFA is also my favourite, it's in my top 5 of best albums ever, along with Appetite, Back In Black, Rust In Peace and Aqualung. RTL is close, songs like Call of Ktulu? I mean, come ON - these guys couldn't write that shit now, they can't even come close!

This just shows you how bad Metallica has become.

And what the fuck happend with Kirk, he was at least a guy that made an effort but men did he really record that solo or did a 10 year old did it? Go back and beg Satch to teach you how to really play.

Just my opinion This song strikes me as more of a bridge for the load error fans and the AJFA fans. This may be to get both sides attention, it would make sense for a first single.

I like the opening, I like the middle and I like the end. There's a couple places where the mix sounds like shit though (This isn't a complaint againt metallica unless they were physically mixing it)

I like the vocals, however James is no longer the God of Vocals.. I think I'd rather listen to the guy from Trivial err Trivium sing, he sounds more like hetfield then hetfield does now. He was the best vocalist ever (imho) and this is just not that strong. I like it mostly but it's just not metallica sounding to me.

Love is a four letter word!?! oh I don't like the lyrics much...

This song sound more like filler on an album where they had 8 minutes left to fill. Dunno as I said if it's a bridge to get the "us and them" crowd looking at it then, it is what it is and cool. But if this is what we can expect on the new album, I dunno, I don't think I'd buy it. Not for this song anyway.

Wait, I just noticed something? Is that Kirk playing a guitar solo? I don't hear wah.

Man, what a disappointment. All I've heard the last few months was Metallica is going old school ass kickin' for the new cd. Its not even close. I guess thats one less cd I'll be buying next month.

I'm not really one to bag Metallica, even during the St.Anger days, I didn't really bag on Metallica, I like them.

But this is fucking bad, maybe it's not what I wanted (because I had no expectations for anything good), but this just sounds like a hack of all their old riffs and the lyrics are probably the dumbest shit ever. "Love is a four letter word". The drums are fucking terrible and sound like shit.

A few samples from some of the other songs sounded pretty good, but this was lame..and the tone sucked.

Listening to it again for the 3rd time on the radio. James whiny voice is just completely annoying. As someone said previously, he used to really shout it out. Now he tries to sing with harmony and fails miserably. Also, as was said, the song is terribly disconnected. It's like they couldn't write a complete song and took 3 pieces and threw them together. Even the 2nd half sounds so immature compared to what they were putting out 20 years ago. The only thing that saves the song is Kirk's solo at the end which really isn't too bad.

It's lame, weak, boring, pointless, and not very good at all. I hate it very much. I was so pumped about this album. I really wanted it to be good, but from the sounds of it so far, it's the opposite of good. Fuck you Metallica for getting my hopes up again you has-been douchebags.

I also felt that it was kinda disjointed, but once things got going around 4 minutes, I liked it. I liked the solo as well... typical Hammett stuff of course, but the big thing is that there was no wah in it.

It seems like they are back to doing the "epic" type songs, which gives me hope that this will be a good record.

I too must admit that this was the best I've heard from them since BA. I am actually positively surprised. I first thought the song was crap, but it gets better after 4:00.
