Same! my god, where is live is boring as fuck, BUT some really beautiful areas, like major parts of the bruce trail, and "sulphur springs" which is an amazing, trail in a woodland area, I love going there, but pretty much boring as fuck weather wise, alot of rain this summer, and alot of snow last winter but nothing I wouldn't call normal.

Not that fires and floods and all that shit isn't "normal" it just fucks with our we are here and we are humans so fuck off attitude about weather, still, we KNOW this shit happens, yet we all pile back into those aread like lemmings, BAH, whatever nothin I can do, except watch this shit play out

IKE may be a real ass kicker for Texas and Northwest Louisiana. I'm more concerned with power outages and tornadoes, but with winds projected to be 30-50 mph and gusts to 65 mph, we stand to lose a lot of timber. Thankfully, I don't have any tall trees near me, but some of my neighbors do. Better gas up the chainsaw.

Best wishes for out South Texas friends and family!

Good luck man, and good luck to everyone else in the storms path. I hope everyone makes it damage and injury free.

                          +1 on the Old Metallica!

Soon as morning rush hour traffic subsides, I'm off to WallyWorld for a few supplies. Might as well top off the Suburban with some of that cheap $3.90 a gallon gas. Better get a grand or two from the bank in case the ATMs take a shit. Let's see, what have I forgotten? Oh, the liquor store!

                              Guys ,

My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.Ike is freaking huge ,2.9 million without power (that made me realize that I take some things for granted).

Luckily, my neighborhood has it's power lines underground. Unless a truck hits a power pole on the main highway, we don't usually loose power. I probably just jinxed the hell out of myself.

As of last report, our area is supposed to get hammered by the East wall of Ike. So far, we've had minimal rain and the winds have just started picking up. Frankly, it's the calm before the storm!
