They also featured the Johansson brothers..Yngwie was not breaking any ground ..he was just GREAT and a little bit more OTT . That's what was going on in Sweden..John Norum was another example. Here's Silver Mountain..try youtubing this shit.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w28J1JID3fw

Wow, I was shocked to see someone mention Jonas. He actually lives in L.A. now, and produced my last bands demo. Cool guy, you should hear the stuff he's doing now (he was still mastering it at the time) , cool as hell. He has some great stories too, he talked about meeting Schenker one night on a train in Europe, and went up to him and hung out for hours, Jonas had some POS acoustic, they changed the strings and he said Schenker just sat there and ripped the shit out of it while talking to him. lol

Very Very nice Evol..yes, I've kept up with Jonas' work, mostly his classical stuff. I didn't know he lived here. He's a an extremely overlooked player. He was there at the dawn of that style in Sweden before John Norum, Yngwie, Vandenburg..ect. All definitely from the Uli Roth school.

I wonder how he feels about Yngwie..I'm curious, since he was from that camp!

Cool that he produced your demo..and would be awesome if he could guest on one of your songs. Did I hear your stuff..I can't recall. I'd like to.

I can't believe dude said Tim Owens is too good for Yngwie..especially after all the amazing singers mentioned above that were in that camp...yeesh.
"Bill, Smoke a Bowl and Crank Van Halen I, Life is better when I do that"
        Donnie Swanstrom 01/25/06..miss ya!

"Well, your friend would have Bell's Palsy, which is a facial paralysis, not "Balls Pelsy" like we're joking about here." Toejam's attempt at sensitivity.

Yngwie rocks, deal with it MF'ers.

Steeler was his best record, yin-yang would kick my ass for sayin' so, but it's true.

          1983 rocks!

We didn't talk too much about Yngwie, but the little we did was very positive. I would assume they do get along well since in this pic they are sharing the stage with one another :

Meh, well that band was more of me doing friends of mine a favor, mostly 80's sounding cock-rock that I didn't write, I just showed up and played the stuff. But here's one of the songs from the demo anyhow.

It never got mastered, and unfortunately, (or fortunately, lol) the tracks have been destroyed, so it is what it was.

My own stuff I like to write is more riff and groove oriented hard-rock/metal, maybe something like Black Sabbath mixed with Testament. Or something attempting to approximate that anyhow. I prefer to do the cover band thing if I feel like actually playing out, if I can find a good, versatile singer that is. Played in tons of em over the years, even a Kiss tribute band
