when a bit snap-happy today, so while I was dragging guitars and stuff about outside, thought I'd get a couple of pics of the wheels too.

2007 BF mkii Ford Falcon XR6 in "Ego" (dark metallic grey). 4.0 litre in-line 6 with German-made ZF 6-speed automatic

Not quite as good looking as the old falcon :P

I find it interesting that it's an XR6, I assumed ford stopped all that a while ago. The XR series died when they stopped making the Sierra lol.

Why can't Ford sell that in the US?

I used to have an SHO that I LOVED.
That Yamaha-worked motor was so smooth and sweet.

          Sweet ride man!

                Nice parking.
I can't understand why guys go for cars like that with such massive engines. It must go like shit off a shovel - wouldn't you rather have something more sporty, to fit the engine?
It looks like a standard family car. You must have fun when you're at a set of lights next to a boy racer in a wee Corsa or somthing.

leave my parking alone. I had to turn the car to face the sun or lose the front end in shadow. Check the second pic to see what I mean. So I did it for you guys.

Love the Cobral, Bill. If we race, it's not for pink slips - you'd leave me for dead in that thing!

Norton, I'm getting about 10.0L/100km around town & about 8.5L/100km on the highway. Pretty good really. Not much worse than a Mazda 6, and it runs on regular unleaded, unlike the Mazda which needs the more expensive high-octane stuff.

MB, it is sporty. Compared to a standard Falcon, anyway. Wider rims, sports suspension, body kit, cool blue lights on the dash
As for the size, I need legroom in the back for my growing kiddies. My 13 y.o daughter is already 5'9. And the boot (trunk for our American friends) is big enough to fit a head & cab for hauling to gigs.

These are the bread and butter of aussie cars, they're built for blokes like us! Killer colour to man, is that a mkii thing aswell? Fords been going strength to strength since that shitty au, its good to see!

yea, bibz, it's a mkii. Couldn't be happier with the colour. I had actually gone in to check out an '07 XR6T in the same colour but they wouldn't play ball for the money I had to spend. Those turboed XRs are just ridiculous! It's all good though - the non-turbo version is still a great car.

hey, did you notice my old EB Fairmont Ghia in the background? They've changed a bit since '91

                        I wasn't gonna mention it

That colour is tits, I can't recall seeing one in it around. Yeah those turbo's are nuts, but I prefer a more traditional tourque curve. Thats why the LS series 8's in the holdens are so good imo, big down low grunt with some top end urge as well. Both are easily moddable into fucking rockets too! Good times for revheads out there.

The first thing that came to my mind when I saw that car was mazda 6. Thats a V8? Damn, my Fusion is a 4 banger and goes ok, I cant imagine what it would be like with a v8. Is that based on a mazda 6 platform, like my fusion?

not a Mazda, not based on a Mazda, no way related to a Mazda, actually quite a bit bigger than a Mazda. It's a Ford. Not a V8, although they are available with a V8. This one has a 4.0 litre straight six, rear wheel drive. I just used the Mazda6 as a point of reference when telling Norton about the XR6's fuel economy

Oh, so in other words, its a real car. Good to see that Ford is still making real cars somewhere.
