I went thru a whole tube of Oragel..this is the last molar I have, it's all broken. There's a couple crowns back there. Fuck teeth..who need teeth. Yeah man, I can see that. Certain players ring certain bells with me too, and I wear them on my sleeve..literally. I think that that version is way better than KSE because he made it his own, not just a cheezy tribute IMO!. There has been much better "spot on" covers in the past..long ago like Holy Mother's Mike Turelli..he nailed Dio...that was 12 years ago. Yeah, Vortex has his own sig that morphs into whatever he's doing ..that's for certain!..just like Dimmu!

Bro Vintersorg, Arcturus, Hardingrock, Borknager. and such are bluring lines to what's become progressive black/death metal..Ihsahn..has been doing this too since the last Emperor and solo stuff. This style was born in Norway..I always liked progessive death metal so I embraced this very quickly..its metal fusion so to speak! Check out Hammers of misfotune or Unexpect.. crazy cool stuff.

I dunno, there's just something that sets his music apart from the others in that "niche" to me...A different feel or atmosphere, if you will, that oddly doesn't come across in his vocals with Borknagar (they were better with Vortex on vocals)......I think he walks a finer line than the other prog groups, lot of them tend to take it either from one extreme to the other, it's either too industrial/gothy sounding or metalled up drinking songs like V's earliest stuff.....OTYG!!!!...........

Oh..I miss the Gorija..I like that one..I only have that cd..I have to grab their other one. My first impression of them was like a progressive Morbid Angel...but more dynamic and heavier!!

They have two other albums, the one just before From Mars to Sirius is the Link.. decent album.. the first one is called Terra Incognita, that one took me six months to get from France. Not great, like a lot of first albums. The new one comes out second week of October

BTW..One of my favorite bands is from France..their prog death ..like death, cynic, athiest ect..They're called SYMBYOSIS..I loved them for years since 2000's "Crisis". They're one of my Myspace friends and I hate Myspace!! Great guitarist!!
