Alright dudes. My first venture into semi-black metal. What do you think of these guys. I quite enjoy them (Other songs that aren't on Youtube that I could find). The lyrics are all in what I assume is Swedish and I don't know a word of it so I can focus on the music so that's a big bonus for me since .
Manegarm:
I don't know how to do circles over a's so I can't type the name correctly. I like the implementation of a wolf in their logo since manegarm is a Norse Wolf god.

That video puzzles me. That band tours with Norther. That video has near rap-video-like qualities to it yet it's a folk metal band... I'm lost for words...
It's like a completely different band... I like!

Haha exactly, I guess it really is just ignorance that lumps maiden in there with them, they are a massive influence on alot of bands. Its the d&d nerds in the maiden shirts that creates the loop. Whenever I went to any IT related class, theres garunteed to be one of them

no probs, man. You like what you like.
But you're not the first person I've heard refer to Maiden in those terms & I never got it. Their lyrical content has always had more of an historical bent. Or they've dealt with madness or the occult.
Although, plenty of Maiden's offspring have favoured the dragon-humping lyrics & imagery. A lot of the Euro Power Metal that followed has taken Maiden's galloping rhythm, harmony leads & soaring vocals and used to recount their adventures in D&D World (of course, removing any reference to Hit Points or 8 sided dice).

I'm not big on the maiden style vox, that usually go hand in hand with powermetal/progstuff, but it totally works in zh. I obviously wrongly lump it all together. Some maiden obviously rocks, I just never seem to have got into all that stuff.
