    • While we're on French bands, power metal doesn't get much better than Heavenly.

I work with a woman who is about 5 feet tall and weighs close to 450 pounds and has more facial hair than ZZ Top." - Jack The Riffer

            • Seriously, I'm trying to like some of this stuff, but com'on... this is cheesier than ANY "hair metal" I've ever heard. Are they serious?

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

Sadly, yes. The guy who writes some of the lyrics for them is in a cult. I think the cult's called the Dragon Rouge or something like that. Secret of the Runes (the album that song's off of) is incredibly strange. I much prefer Gothic Kabbalah but that's because Gothic Kabbalah is amazing in every way.

                • Just dropped by for a quickie.
I'm certainly not gonna read all the pages of this thread to bring myself up to speed.

Yes, a music brand/style is definitely a matter of ones personal interpretation.
What one thinks is metal the next thinks its hard rock.
What one thinks is speed metal one thinks its just metal.
What one calls todays country music one will call 80's radio rock.

                  I'm different.
Some folks call it hard rock, some call it metal, some heavy metal, or speed metal and so on. I call it music. I seem to nearly always find a musical quality/groove about it, whether its a style I like or not, but the singing part usually makes or breaks whether I like the song or not.
Peace, Love and Happieness and all that stuff...

"Anyone who tries to fling crap my way better have a really good crap flinger."

I personally do not care how it was built as long as it is a good playing/sounding instrument.

Yes, there's a bee in the pudding.

I'm not trolling by pissing on this. I'm watching this thread to broaden my horizons a bit, but some of these tunes are kinda hokey. I like the groove of that Tuna 1613 tune (pretty common "dragon humper" groove), but the lyrics/vocal presentation kinda kills it for me.

I must say it was really strange for me when I first listened to it. I'll admit it is cheesy but I like it. If you don't, that's okay. We all have different tastes in music and what might seem good to one person might seem like total garbage to another. So what you're saying is just fine to me.

That's a valid point. I still haven't found out what the heck Tuna is. Apparently it was a pagan town in Scandinavia.

They're not metal, but they're a good rock band.

Besides - they're not even popular.
