He gave me a pocket full of picks too..I shoved them in Satriani cd jewel cases.

Oh, I have some old pics of us when I had Andrew Dice Clay hair..not good pics of me...jeezuz..oh man!!!:ROTF:
You can make a fucking awesome "Best of" CD from Satch's albums. There's a fair bit of filler, even on his best albums, but his really good songs are just incredible.
One of my favourite players - and he does it all with a big grin on his face. Such a cool guy.

I quite enjoyed the Van Hagar era.
          Summer nights.
          mmmm
          play it.
          hear it.
          become one with it.
          get laid by it.
          ok, now I gotcha.

Summer Nights was a great tune, loved 5150 too.

But the Me Wise Magic cut from Dave's original return on that greatest hits cd was killer and made me realize the Sammy era was nice, but just not the same.

Satch is great!!! But I'd like to hear Dweezil with Sammy and Mike..that would be fuggin' cool!!! Oh,..or even Steve Stevens..yeah!!!

That would really capture the VH vibe..I think!!!

Gotta admit, on "Little Guitars", Dweezil sounded the most like EVH.

                      +1000

When my son Jake and I went to see them May 28th in Manchester, NH...

Well, let me just say that's about as good a time as I've ever had.

                      Just killer.

Yep, "Me Wise Magic" was an incredible tune. Really makes me sad they never did more again. That was one of their best songs, right up there with the best of the early stuff.

If one ignored the vocals, I think the only difference between EVH and Dweezil's version is the outro solo, Dweezil plays it at a different point.

My band covered that when it was on the radio..before it was released. My freinds had a tape of it..I didn't. So I kinda learned it on the spot. I always tripped on the timing to the intro of MWM..so I fuggin' hated that song.

But I liked it when I learned it tho.

Yep..Hey, you know what is my fave on that record. "Light up the Sky" with Yngwie , Sheehan and Doug Pinnick!!! I love their version..and Yngwie doesn't even sound like himself on it..well kinda. I really like his tone on that, its different and Doug's perfomance is amazing to me.

Maybe we should see if these songs are on youtube so everyone can hear them..but I gotta bail for now.

I change them out every once in a while on my Treo. At current rotation I actually have no Van Halen. Although, this is my workout card.
