Am I the only guy that Plays my guitar to concert DVDs?

For the last couple of years I found that my favorite past time has been to pop in a concert DVD of my favorite band grab my guitar and play along. I also Tivo all the video shows like Metal Mania on VH1 Classic and play along to those and it gets me to learn new stuff.

I know the kids are into the whole Guitar Hero thing but to me playing along with a real guitar and concert DVD is where its at. Especially coming home drunk from the bar on a Friday night and I am by myself because I was unable to secure pie.

Am I the only one that does this?

I do that - normally when I watch a music DVD I just want to grab my guitar and play along anyway. Last one I did it to was Priest's "Rising In The East".
Good fun.

But not quite as much fun as playing with a real band!

Real band is where its at but if I am lucky I can get together with my friends and jam for maybe a few hours a month on our wanne be band. Grabbing your guitar and jamming along to DVDs you can do whenever you damn well please.

Is there any other way to play?

When I'm on the road in the apartment, I have my laptop, a pair of speakers, a POD and some headphones. Youtube baby....

Yep, done that one myself a few times! Live albums are always cool, cos they tend not to fuck about with tunings and stuff.
AC/DC's live stuff, Maiden's, and Priests are all great for it.

When I was younger playing along to CDs and cassetts was where its at but now I have to have visual along with my music.

I finally got my Alice In Chains bootlegs from 89-96 to play on my PS3 been jamming to those recently. I also wish there was a more diverse metal show I could Tivo like Metal Mania.
