I find Obama inspiring and refreshing. I think he acted with class throughout his campaign, and I'm glad he won. I also think that his rise to power shows that the American dream is alive and well, and I'm proud to say that he will be our new president.

I must admit I get a chill whenever someone says "rise to power" when discussing politicians.

Although I understand the context of your statement.

I will be inspired and proud when he fulfills his campaign promises. Until then, it is "wait and see".

                      Tim,

We can agree on a lot of things in your post, you know my deal and I basically know yours. One thing's for certain, big biz does kill small biz! You know how hard it is for me to even attempt to compete with GoDaddy, NetSol, etc? Geez...

As for the economy, there are several things to that and it's not as simple as some may think, but I give McCain kudo's for a few things.

                      1. He's the only one that I saw warning us about the housing/sub-prime mortgage scam in 05, saying there needed to be more regulation, and that it was going to kill the market if it didn't happen, he was right and that's 80% of the problems we have today, whether you have one or not, it's killed the economy.

                      2. He also called for more reform in Washington and more regulation on Wall Street, only to fall to deaf ears from both sides. So that didn't work, either one of those things would have helped us out today, immensely!

I didn't particularly care for either candidate, but I truly believe McCain is/was the lessor of 2 evils.

One thing that was a bit scary and really stood out about Obama was the campaign stop in Florida on 10-29 I believe, with Clinton. And Billy boy proceeded to say that Obama had called his advisers, Bill's advisers, Hilary's advisers, Buffet, and someone else and then calling Bill, Hilary and asking them to explain this economic meltdown when it happened because he didn't understand it. And then proceeded to say that he didn't understand and to tell him what was the right thing to do and he'd sell it to the American people. Right there was when my mind was completely made up.

I had doubts about his tax/spending plans and doing the math, they just weren't physically possible and I think anyone with a small amount of common sense can see this, but that's just typical political rhetoric and expected in an election.

We'll certainly see, but I have my doubts. One thing though, I find the news about Russia, Iran and the fact he doesn't have to go through any type of security clearance to get the security briefings daily as the Pres does. You have to admit, there's a lot about Obama nobody knows and here he's handed the key to the most powerful nation on the planet.

I dunno, but we shall certainly see, I just hope it's all good.
