I just thought it was bad ass for a video game.
No, I wasn't directing that at you at all. I see a ton of videos on youtube with people playing a video game acting like they can play the stuff in real life. The drums in rockband are close, but it still isn't the same thing.

I suppose I should've been clearer in my original post, but I'm at work and have to get in and get out.

Ian Paice smokes!!! It's hard to focus on his while Ritchie is going nuts..so you miss alot of what he does. I love whenever I hear something new in a song I heard hundreds of times. That is why I am rediscovering the pioneers man..guys like Mitch Mitchell (RIP). Man, I loved his playing. Jimi and those two were, well better than Cream IMO..and those guys kicked ass. I'm rooted in that stuff. Primarily a bassists for any style..but I'm a "metal" guitarist so I require blast beats and running double kicks. BUT it's all about meter, meter, meter..I demand to play to a click track! I want everyone on the same watch. My old drummer had the speed and the chops from hell, but had no dynamics, feel or meter...man, I hate that guy.

A good drummer makes all the difference in the world.

The Southpark Guitar Hero episode is one of my all time faves. I know this whole "rockstar" video thing seems trendy. But don't forget about the anti-rockstar trend 10 years ago. When scratchin' records was cooler than making them!! That was a terrible time that I hope NEVER returns. I'm glad kids have interest in playing instruments..no matter what the influence.

When I joined here I was the fuggin' anti-rap messiah, because that's all that was promoted. We didn't have youtube and myspace and all the shit back then. So, no matter what the boob tube promotes as "cool" these days ..many kids are on the PC doing what they want to do, and not what they're constantly being told to do, act, or look. Now everthing has its place and everyone has a choice...if that makes sense.

      Donnie Swanstrom 01/25/06..miss ya!

"Well, your friend would have Bell's Palsy, which is a facial paralysis, not "Balls Pelsy" like we're joking about here." Toejam's attempt at sensitivity.

Indeed, some great drumming on PSBWB.

There is a live video from the RIP tour when they're playing the conjuring and they're filming from behind the drum kit. Nick plays that stuff really well too!

I love Nick's drumming. Matter of fact, it was his sound that first turned me on to Megadeth.
