k was just sayin tho cause over here in Australia a Cricket (yeah its a major sport here) Coach got into a scuffle with a bouncer, with the bouncer punching the coach out which led to the coach hitting his head on the concrete and dying.

guess my point is just watchout with ur fights u don't want the person dying or anything and getting charged with manslaughter, I mean none of us known wat the scene was like cept u.

If he had killed the guy, it would have been self-defense and defense of his wife. Had the guy not been breathing when he was done, he probably would have called the police and paramedics to assist.

As it is, Bill tried to avoid the fight and simply defended himself with enough force to eliminate the threat to himself and his wife.

Anybody who has ever been in a streetfight knows that the first time your enemy says "Stop" he's just looking for an opening to turn the tables. If he gets the chance you can be sure HE won't stop when you ask him to.

This guy was 8 inches taller and had a good 100 pounds on Bill. That size difference is basically like an adult attacking a kid. If Bill didn't have his training and experience he'd be in the hospital or worse, and what about Val? I have zero sympathy for that piece of shit in the Escalade and if Bill had killed him, I'd give him a big hug and a pat on the back for doing the right thing.

It was just a fight in a parking lot, and it looks like both participants left under their own power since no reports were filed. It would be stupid to call the police in on it.

Sorry, but I disagree. Being an ex-cop, he knows better than anyone that by turning himself in he would have opened himself up to the distinct possibility of criminal charges being filed AND civil litigation from the asshat who so rightfully got his ass stomped.

In the old days (70's - early 80's), the police would have simply dismissed it as a lesson well taught and hopefully learned, but in the touchy, feely, pussified world we live in today, he would be treated like the criminal instead of the good guy.

I don't know u at all Bill, but if u use to be a coppa then you should've done the right thing afterwards and atleast handed ya self in, even if u were in the right, u know u still should've contacted the police!

I'm not saying it was wrong of u to fight im just saying that you should've contacted teh cops as it seems like a pretty major fight with all the blood and etc.

man if this guy had've died from his injuries you would've been fucked!

Thanks guys..everything is fine. I'm feeling much better, my hand is heeling up peachy. It was the first time my wife actually witnessed what she's heard all these years. I really wished she hadn't. I am greatful that my son wasn't with me. He about enough times and wished he was there. I know this from experience with my dad, who was the prez of a outlaw MC club who I seen brutalize a couple people. Yes, on one hand its cool to see you're dad is a major badass, but to actually see it was a bit "too much"..if you know what I mean.

I've talked to some people I know..nothing reported, nothing seen..nothing to worry about. Just two things that went bump in the middle of the fuggin' day.

I'm still takin' care of biz with the wife. We have another hearing downtown today..this shit is gettin' old.
