I just realized you are from Boston MA. There was a guy in boot camp from Boston and that guy had a VERY strong accent!

Is driving though that city as bad as I hear it is? From what I hear from the dep. of transportation it can be one of the toughest cities to get around in.

I dropped by Matt's on my summer vacation to RI. It's not too bad out there IMO, but he isn't right in Boston, it's more of a outlying community thing.

As long as you have a total disregard for motor vehicle laws (or are able to supress your inner self screaming for sanity), driving in Boston is like a ride in the country. (Iraq, Bosnia, Afghanistan...)

After seeing a cab back up three blocks at about 40mph in fairly heavy traffic to end up in front of my hotel, I walked everywhere for the rest of my visit. :ROTF:

I've only been to Boston once (right after 9/11) and I stayed downtown. Never had a chance to site see, but from what I was told, getting around Boston is relatively easy. Of course, that was my ex-wife doling out that info!

Boston's really not that bad to get around in.
It's a relatively small sized city in terms of actual sq footage.
I will tell you that walking beats trying to drive in it. You can pretty much walk to anywhere within 20 mins.

Unless you are looking to go to neighboring areas like Cambridge, Quincy, or Charlestown. Then it gets bigger.
Up here, the locals seem to call it all Boston, so you have to be careful where they send you.

Me, I think they do it on purpose. It's the southie dwellers who are the worst. They have no idea of directions if you are heading to the north side.

Matt's actually before Boston if you are coming up thru 79/24.

Do they include Abbington (sic) in Dallas?
Best BBQ I ever had was in TX.
Little corner shop near the JFK book repository. Can't remember the name though. Pulled pork heaven.

Drooling just thinking of it. I should go back for a vaca.

Yea, Abbington, Arlington, Richardson, Garland, Terrell, you name it, it's DALLAS!

You've got to understand, we're 178 miles due East of Dallas and every fucking sportscaster in town thinks that Shreveport is a suburb of Dallas. They tend to forget we have the Saints just a little further to the South. Of course, I've tried to forget the Saints ever since they entered the NFL!

you have drove right through them and never even knew it. Its insane. Check the town "white Settlement"
Many people wonder where the name for the City of White Settlement came from. The roots of the name and the city itself can be traced back to the earliest days of the Texas Republic. In a time when many predominantly white pioneers were moving to the area, several surrounding settlements were still occupied by Native Americans. In 1849, in an effort to help protect the pioneers, the War Department constructed a small fort at the confluence of the Clear and West Forks of the Trinity River. It was given the name Fort Worth.

This historical chain of events led to the development of two settlements, one occupied by white settlers and another encompassing a grouping of seven villages occupied by Native Americans. Thus, the name White Settlement was coined. The City of White Settlement was officially incorporated in 1941 and has enjoyed a steady increase in population and development ever since.
