A hd, but no hr. B&S utes are stupid, but for some reason I fully support the abominations. I'd much prefer stripping the panels and interior and souping up the engine though. Mate of mine made a 600+hp HQ 1tonner, stock body of course, everything would fall off otherwise

you're right on the money. Ute is short for utility. A pickup could be considered a ute, although what is considered a ute is generally built on a sedan platform. Things like F-series trucks are much bigger than utes.

I'm more a fan of musclecars, the engines in some of those look o.k. but some of the other mods are useless to me Interesting to see what shows up at a car show Down Under though.

a sedan utility with a tray or what not is a ute, a pick up truck or four wheel drive or 4x4 as we call em here aren't and are known here just as four wheel drives.

e.g.
the ford that Vitamin posted is a UTE but a F250 is a four wheel drive, so yeah basically it has to be built out of a sedan type car.
