Regardless of lid, I ALWAYS wear gloves, even if moving bike from front of house into garage. If I start it up to shift it, the gloves go on. My Dad drummed into me when I was 17 and on first bike that even in the slowest spills the first thing I would do is put my hands out to save myself........and that picking gravel out of my hands would put a serious damper on my guitar playing.So I woke up,rolled over and who was lying next to me? Only Bonnie Langford!
