  • USC gets screwed yet again...

Another year, another screw job by the FUCKING BCS...

USC would have destroyed Florida and that poser Tim Tebow, and we already destroyed Oklahoma a few years ago...

Like everything else, it's all about money, and it's a fixed system.

All I have to say is, Pac-10 was 5-0 in bowls...

We would have killed anyone we faced, fuck all'ya who think otherwise...

Face some facts, USC is the team of the decade, PERIOD.

Tebow will flame out in the NFL, write it down.

If USC would have beat Oregon State they would have had their opportunity.
      OR
If there was a PLAYOFF system they would have had a chance to prove you right.

Man, I post angry when i'm drunk...

Funny thing, I was born and raised in New Jersey for the first 37 years of life, and other than the NY Islanders, I can't stand any of the NY/NJ teams. I've been a Celtics fan, a Raider fan, and a USC fan since I was old enough to watch sports.

I wish the bowl games were right after the regular season. My plan for a playoff: 9 games against all teams in your division. Winner of the division and the second place team get in the playoff. If there is a tie, tiebreaker is who beat who in the regular season. Playoffs start the week after the regular season. Yes the Bowl games were good but saw a lot of teams like Penn State make layoff-related mistakes. That makes it hard to tell who is the better team if you go off the "you never are as good or as bad as your best or worst" saying. Not to mention, Penn State CRUSHED Oregon State, so that makes that true right there...

Officials are randomly drawn from all conferences, making multi conference task forces for each game. First round is Conference winner vs the Runner up/Wild Card. It would also be organized to follow which conferences get in what bowls (IE Big Ten and the Pac 10 champions). No time issues, nothing... Also, I like how people start pushing for a playoff when Obama says something. Joe Pa has been pulling for one for like 40 years

Now, you want a sham conference? The Big 12. These schools do NOT know what a defense is. I like Texas, but their offenses all look bloated because not a single one of these teams has a secondary worth a crap, and have crappy overall defensive players. The moment one of these teams (I could see it being Texas Tech or OSU) get a decent defense, the main teams will be REELING.

Now about the game, Penn State got killed by two things; one, the layoff obviously hurt this team, something I was concerned about with this bunch. The mistakes are obvious. However, the other one was on defense. How Bradley, the defensive coordinator did not pick up that they were getting ripped apart playing Zone defense midway through the second beats me, but it may have allowed them to hang on and possibly mount a charge. I was also a bit disappointed by the lack of Penn State hustle, and they hit USC on the one game of the year a team has where they play a flawless game.

Put bottle down Ralph, Rockwall High School could have won that nancy boy conference called the the Pac-10 Well this year any

Texas got scewed harder Big 12 and SEC toughest conferences this year...

There is too much time between when the season ends and when the Bowl begin let alone the BCS Final game. Sloppy first quarters and halfs from being idle for weeks...

The Pac-10 has seen it's better days. It has been painfull to see a program like the UW Huskies fall from grace and not be a factor. Should be the Pac-5. maybe they should change the scheduels where you dont have to play as many schools in your conference and start doing more outside conference matches with real contenders. no more padding your record playing the weaker schools to attempt to go undefeted. A team with no losses is not always a great team.

It took a UW team to stop the Miami home winning streak in their first time playing there. The Canes I dont think ever recovered from that.

Hey, the Pac-10 was 5-0 in the bowls, hard to argue that they suck as a conference.

USC is really the only contender in the conference. Oregon is over ranked and had a pretty soft schedule...the looked good against Oklahoma State in the Holiday Bowl . 5-0 in bowl games means little when you have 3 ranked teams. Not all bowls are good bowls or have national championship quality teams playing in them.

I'm a dyed-in-the-wool Alabama Crimson Tide fan. Having said that, Utah beat the crap out of us fair and square two weeks ago in our bowl game. My hat is off to them.

Which brings me to the point: Utah is 13-0. Utah totally dominated us (Alabama). Florida struggled with us and we had them down twice in the SEC Championship Game until they managed to come back in the 4th quarter.

So here's Utah at 13-0, sitting at home watching a couple of 12-1 teams play for all the marbles, one of which barely beat a team that they (Utah) walked all over.

Yet the BCS is supposed to be the answer for determining a national champion? Bullshit! It's all about the money. As far as I'm concerned, we're no better off than when it was all determined by random polls.

                            I suggest the following:

Each team plays one LESS regular season game.

The existing bowls should be used as a playoff system. They should have a "Sweet 16" like in basketball. The top 16 teams play each other, leaving the top eight, then the top four, then the remaining two play for the championship.

The order of the bowls (16, 8, 4, 2) should rotate each year so that they all share the load and prestige. In other words, one year the Sugar Bowl will be a Sweet 16 game. The next year it'll be a Top 8 or whatever.

Some will complain that this means less money for the bowls. I disagree. It will mean MORE money because it's a chance for fans to see their team possibly advance to the final two.

Utah didn't get a chance because they "hadn't played anybody," according to the polls, yet they dominated the team that was #1 for much of the season. I hope they bring a lawsuit.
