    Consumer Guide is great:

HowStuffWorks has been explaining how things work to curious minds since 1998. Providing factual, unbiased content that's fun to read and makes difficult topics easy to understand.

Hey thanks Ron, those were all very helpful. Like you said, there are a couple of reliability issues, but very minor and inexpensive to fix. The guy is bringing it over tomorrow, so I'm going to give it a really good inspection, but I might just go for it. Considering I was only asking $3,250 for the bike (which is almost giving it away), even if I don't keep the car, I could sell it for more than that.

Get one of those ultraviolet lights or whatever so you can see if there are any bloodstains in the trunk or the backseat. You don't want to have to try and explain that away later.

Make sure the VIN matches the paperwork.

Take it to a good mechanic to get it checked out for unseen damage (frame, rust, etc).

Yeah, I'd take it to a mechanic before I buy it. With 125k miles and a known modification, you don't know how this guy drove it.

No mods. Just a cat-back exhaust.

Yeah, that's what all car con-men say.. When you see him in person, rip off his bandage and jab him in the eye with your finger.
