    I'm impressed...

Today was a good day. 150 innocent people got a wake up call, and walked away to enjoy the rest of their lives. I can only smile

Kudos to the crew, and all the people that risked their lives getting things in check afterwards. NYC public safety personnel prove once again that they are the shiznit... Hats off to a bunch seriously brave people.

My wife was watching the news and had me come in. First off, everything said about the pilot is balls on. Something that pissed me off was the news kept saying crash. Well, my definition of a crash would have been plane destroyed in a million pieces and loss of life. Since he obviously took it all the way in they should give him the credit he deserves and state the obvious, he landed it, it just happened to be in the river.

        +1

That was great thinking on the pilots part.. land it in the river or land it and try to avoid the tress, building and people on the ground.

The aircraft is just a little water logged.. and the engine chopped a few geese..

Man, the more and more I think about this, I just cannot even comprehend how extremely close this could've been an utter huge disaster. The fact that the plane did not break up on impact, and send everyone out with the fishes speaks volumes - the pilot just must've absolutely nailed the landing perfectly and as soft as possible. Amazing!

He did an awesome job. They wanted him to reroute to Teterboro which is a smaller airport right near my house surrounded by roads, homes and businesses. I am glad he was smarter than air traffic control. He cleared the GW bridge by about 900 feet. He knew he only had one shot and to pick a water landing instead of flying over all the major highways and neighborhoods speaks to his experience and smarts.

My hat is off to him, all NYC emergency personell AND the Waterway Ferry boat captains and staff. They all did a kick ass job.

Are you sure it actually happened? Or was it a conspiracy, faked? Inside government job? :ROTF:

                  j/k!!!

I agree with all of the previous statements in a big way, I watched as the entire thing unfolded and it was truly amazing! Kudos to all involved!
