The cedar is there to protect delicate wrappers.
Usually reserved for Camaroon, but sometimes used on larger ring gauges.

Humidors are lined with Spanish cedar, known for its neutrality in one way, the fact it holds moisture constantly, and compliments fine tobaccos without flavoring it too much. It isn't meant to be smoked.

A few years back a friend tried to turn me on to scotch and cigar nights. Well I drink scotch these days but could not acquire the the cigars. I love a glass of Johnny on the rocks though.

People make fun of it, and the appearance of the cigars, but from the field to the final smoke, it is an entirely different world than any other product. More like Kobe beef compared to a Burger King Whopper.
        Right.

Ah, okay. I misunderstood. I though he meant the paper was cedar, which would be bad for you. The cedar we have here is good like that for being very water resistant because of the oil, but the oil is quite an irritant. A sliver of it will blister up pretty fast.

Hey, if you guys like'em, smoke away. But as a past smoker of cigarettes, pipes, and cigars, I have a firm grasp on their negative aspects. When a person tells me that some cigars smell good, to me it's like they just said "some farts smell good."

Let me ask a serious question to Cyg and please don't get defensive, it's a legit question. If you're sitting out on your back patio enjoying a fine cigar and a homebrew, is your wife inclined to give you a deep, passionate kiss knowing your breath is saturated with cigar smoke and beer?

 My farts always smell good.

Cigar saver is a good product.
But yes, dental hygiene is something we all should keep up with. She will take a puff or two on occasion herself.
Oh, and she drinks wines, I can't.
                  I'm allergic to many wines.

                        DO NOT INHALE CIGARS!

                        They are nothing like cigarettes.
What's the point then? I don't get it. Apart from the fact I can't help inhaling a cigar - force of habit - I just don't see the point in smoking something if you're not inhaling it.

                        Why?

Taste buds are in your mouth, not lungs. Cigar smokers aren't going for a massive nicotene rush, although you do get some from the smoke and juices.

Cigars don't have all that much nicotine them anyways, as far as I know.
                            Do I get a "buzz"?
                            Absolutely.
But I think it's more the act of settling down either alone to reflect, or in the pleasure of conversation that the buzz really comes from.
Shaking off the weary humdrum of everyday life and enjoying a fine cigar.
I could be doing yoga for all that matters.

I don't have a problem with for those who actually enjoy smoking a stoggie. What I dislike is those who do so only because its trendy or fasionable like..."lookie me..I'm cool"

Or those that stink up a joint when I'm trying to enjoy a fine meal.
I like my smokes, I just don't feel a need to make everyone else take part in it.
                                I don't mix the two.
A great cigar while grilling in my own back yard is a far cry from going to pay a hefty price for a steak at a good restaurant and smelling someone else's smoke.
That's one place I draw the line.
