New EVH Fender? WTF?

So Van Halen are a band again, with DLR as singer? But hidden away in this is mention of a new EVH Fender sig guitar.

Maybe it's old news, I don't keep up with EVH guitars, but the last I heard EVH had nothing to do with Fender?

Well the guitar is built by Fender and FMIC OWNS the design, not Eddie.

Ah ok. When I saw that there was a Fender EVH coming out I stupidly assumed it would look like his early strat type guitars, not one of these modern abominations.
