But they are extremely expensive for the average joe. I picked em up for $50 a pop.Last edited by DRM; 02-14-2009, 03:16 PM.

Let's see the AR with the optics, got pics? Are you on ar15.com? I've been looking around and I think I'll get an EOTech rig, another with an Aimpoint and the 3rd with I guess a Leupold, I hate to spend $1500, but, I've got 3 thus far and guess I need at least 2 more so I may as well... I'm a whore like that, was with guitars/amps, so why not?
More pics pls.
Also, I just replaced an Aimpoint M68 with this EOTech. MUCH better!!! The Aimpoint I had was a single 4 MOA dot...rendered it useless past 100m!!! Seriously, I could barely see my target at 300m and when I went farther than that, forget it. If you get an Aimpoint, make sure you get a model that has a decent reticle...EOTech are the way to go for holographic optics.
As for Leupold, we use the Mark 4 on our M14 EBR's. It's decent, but if you want long range, get the scopes from them that auto-adjust the mil-dots as you zoom in and out. This makes range estimation accurate without having to use binocs for ranging.

What are you using for armor? Do they give you guys the option to wear the Eagle CIRAS with Level III soft armor?
Also I prefer a belt holster for my USPf 45 I think the Safriland drop leg holsters is just a trendy thing. This is according to a few contractors I knew who came back from Iraq they all used the dropleg holsters and if they had a choice would use the belt holster. They say it snags on everything when you are getting in and out of vehicles.
If I had it my way, I'd have a Phenix Gear plate carrier. Much more ergonomic, lighter, and it doesn't have a camo pattern that makes us look like smurfs at 500m.

Hell no, that's because we're using 30 year old mags and they're made of shitty Aluminum...one of the softest metals. Also, the bolt assembly of the M4 is made of aluminum and rides on steel rails, causing it to wear down over time. This makes the internals loose, causes misfires, and if extreme the weapon just won't fire. Unlike, oh, the HK 416 which is all S90V steel on the inside.

If you didn't know, I'm in the Army. The EOTech is my new optic for my rifle so that I can accurately engage with my rifle. Big improvement over the one I used to have...I can now confidently engage up to 600m.
The knife is used for anything and everything. Whatever I'm going to need it for, there it is.
The rack carries my ammo, my first aid kit, and pretty much anything else I need. It goes over my body armor so that when I'm on a patrol or a raid, whenever I need something, it's right there.
