Killer setlist! Hey, Metal Gods isn't my favorite either, but you have to recognize that it's an anthem song that the crowd will like!

Oh, and the KK wig isn't going to go with the dark goatee, John, so either shave it or peroxide it!
    Ron is the MAN!!!!

The Sentinel is a godly song. The chorus is so amazing.
      "Dear Dr. Bill,
I work with a woman who is about 5 feet tall and weighs close to 450 pounds and has more facial hair than ZZ Top." - Jack The Riffer

"OK, we can both have Ben..joint custody. I'll have him on the weekends. We could go out in my Cobra and give people the finger..weather permitting of course.." -Bill Z. Bub

What sucks is neither of us guitarists really wanna be KK permanently... We were joking about swapping wigs mid set! THAT would be hilarious.

We will not be doing true to the player soloing... Whoever has the sound and the best feel for the solo gets it. Unfortunately, the other new guitarist, Tony, who is from my band Paradox is a Priest freak AND dials his GP8 in to emulate stuff VERY close. I may end up playing rhythm guitar, haha...

Technically, I'm going on Shaved head and goatee... Unless we start making serious dinero. Could happen maybe. First show we did was $500, free drinks and each a free meal in the restuarant for 50 minutes of stage time. Not too bad. I'd have done it for free, it was fun and I was mostly just playing rhythm as I hadn't learned the leads to the "approval" of the guitarist the singer fired after the show

Now I'm crash coursing on leads for this stuuff, and honestly, i was never a huge Priest fan.

Yeah, I never really paid attention to that tune, the drawn out beginning always made me click past it, haha... But, I really enjoy playing it now. Some tasty stuff going on in it that is complex enough to keep my attention. Unlike say, Breaking the Law...

Exactly..people want to hear those anthems. Most of the barfolk are not musicians..just drunken, happy people that yell "Freebird" anywhoo. But it THOSE fuckers that make the bar owner very happy!!! A happy bar owner equals a happy cover band. It'll be worth the money for him to promote the band to keep them playing there.

BTW - ANY of these song titles would be a good JP tribute name. Painkiller would be my first choice..because I like the song/album and I like painkillers.

Oh Rich, I finally saw your pic..you're a very lovely man bro..you look like a true rocker!!! Nice to see you after all these years!!

BTW for those who don't know. John's co-guitarist is my ol old best bud who was with me in our VH trib. We played together since we were my son's age. I gotta say, it's really cool to see them together. Talk about the closest two guys in my musical family..there they are!!!

I know something like this is completely wishful thinking on my part. But our three sons are great players themselves. Wouldn't be unbeliveable if that would happen. Keeping it in the family. That would never happen..just thinkin'.

I also think you should add Desert Plains.

I personally do not care how it was built as long as it is a good playing/sounding instrument.

                    Free drinks x 2 guitarists, a bass player, singer and a drummer = 1500$

The KK wig = (priceless) you have to post that shit!

PS - I sincerely hope you're starting 'electric eye' with 'the hellion'(I'm too lazy to read the entire thread, plus my eyes still burn from toejams moob picture:ROTF

People that don't know into the pit will dig it anyway I think you are covered there.

Halford fans will dig life in black - I'd like to see how you do that one, since it's a little down-tempo
It reminds me of "steel dragon - stand up" that would be an interesting one to tie in

Personally I'd rather hear Jawbreaker or Rock Hard Ride Free

Here's an odd one - Two - I am a pig, especially the "pre-reznor mix" if you have it

I would imagine they got paid $500 TOTAL.

The last time my band made $500.00 we had a $300.00 bar tab.

I figured Jay meant the bar tab for the band would've been $1500, so add that to the $500 they were paid...

Oh, Breaking the Law, one of the few songs you can play completely with a mutilated hand with one finger.

You really should add Better By You, Better than Me. Or maybe Stained Class or Devil's Child. Devil's Child is almost as easy as Breaking the Law but it's really neat to listen to.
