What's your typical Saturday night like?

For most of us, Saturdays are the culmination of a long, boring, arduous work week. For others, Saturdays are just another day.

Regardless of where you stand, what do you typically spend your Saturday nights doing? I think it will be interesting to see the various (and most likely wacky) responses.

I'll start by saying that after working all week and spending all day watching the baby and doing homework/working around the house, I try to reward myself with some "me" time... by which I mean playing guitar for a few hours, scratching myself in two places at once, and/or sitting on the couch playing video games. Saturday night is usually the time when I try to catch a hockey game or practice guitarring. Tonight will be no exception. If I could snag some Pizza, I'd be in heaven.

I try to convince my wife to leave me alone for a few hours while I do Man things.

Any "good" day for me is complete boredom. Boredom allows me to relax and read a book, listen to music, watch a movie, stuff my face, have sex and not obsess over money, health, or any possible bullshit waiting to drop on my head. I avoid people like the plague, because people equals drama, which equals bullshit. Therefore people are assholes with nothing to offer me but drama and bullshit. This impedes my enjoyment of going to a show, driving, shopping, or just standing in line at the bank, (add activity here______) ..ect.

I try to avoid drama so much, that in itself becomes more drama than having no drama at all. Such is the curse of OCPD, PTSD, GAD with a dash of Major Depression.

So, any "good day" would be having a home cooked meal while watching a movie at home with my family uninteruppted by phone calls. Any stress I may have is reduced with prescription medications/weed, which may enhance any "joy" I feel while shooting my goo all over myself or my wife..or just playing guitar, reading a book while listening to whatever metal I want at that moment...while having the munchies. The cherry on this sundae is the ability to go poop.

This Saturday it's recovering from last nights show! Normally, I'm either playing a show or going out to catch a local band. If we're broke..it turns into TV night, which is all cool with me. Love spending time with my husband.

Went to see a local band last night and that's where I'm headed in about two hours. I'm so lucky in that this area has such a wide range of musical talent. Last night, it was classic rock. Tonight, it's a little Motown, R&B, with a taste of funk! Yessir, Mr G is gonna get his groove on tonight!

I remember when my son was a baby...man, was that an awesome time. Now he's 14 going on 30!!!

I saw Thor's family man..they're beautiful, and reminds me of those glorious days. The days where I laid on the couch watching a movie while holding my wife and son..kissing the backs of their heads..like 200-300 times an hour.

CHERISH those days Thor!!! Once they're gone ..they're gone. Hun fun man..but there WILL be a time when your child will not want to hang around with you. They have their own interests and shit as a teen/adult..like we did. It's reality..it's good..but it's kinda sad.

I'm the coolest dad on the fuggin' planet!! His friends think so..I think so..they come over for guitar setups and lessons and jam sessions. BUT for some fuggin' reason I am NOT cool whenever we are out and there's girls around. Then walks 1000 feet away from me..ya see what I'm sayin'. Unless we're riding in the Cobra. Then it's a whole different story..that lil' prick!!

I think very similarly but I don't think of it as boredom. It may be boring to other people but to me it's a time when I can not be stressed out. My parents always wonder how I can spend 2 weeks at home and not go anywhere and how bored I must be. I just say that I'm not bored. I never run out of things to do and if I get bored with something I just do something else then when I go back, it won't be boring anymore. Most people I know focus on making as many plans as humanly possible for their weekend and going to parties and whatnot and I can't stand any of that. I don't mind hanging out with one or two friends but large social gatherings put me so far out of my element that I usually leave them early. Weekends are a time to relax and doing anything else is a wasted weekend.

But he's only 14..and already talking about "butt sex" with girls due to listening to Dr Drew on the radio..WTF??!! Goddamm doctor Drew's radio program. I deal with people through the week. The last thing I want to do is look at more people during my time off. I never have gotten bored of being at home. Fuck, with the gear and shit I got to do around here, I could be happy if I never left my property. I was confined to my property for almost a month straight after my neck surgery (doc didn't want me in a car for risk of an accident fackin' up his work) and didn't mind it a bit. As long as there's delivery and UPS and FedEx can find the plantation, I don't need the outside world!
