Myspace issues w/ IE

Last week or so, I am having issues viewing my profile control pages in IE 6-7 or 8... Firefox is fine.

Page loads, then if you scroll, it basically smears whatever was on the page down the screen, repeating text/images downward etc.

If you open another window, and go back to the malfunctioning window, the page is black.

Does this on several profiles and several computers. Compatability mode on IE8 doesn't help either.

Anyone else getting this? Haven't seen any complaints, but seems like more should be seeing it. I'm sure not everyone is usng Firefox (although probably safest to use on myspace).

Yes, I had the same problem. IE7 doesn't work worth a shit for me, so I use Firefox.

no issues here. make sure your flash player is up to date - flash wreaks havoc on all browsers.

it's worth taking a look at what other IE add-ons you have running.

what are your proxy settings set to for your connection?

you may want to see what all is being downloaded on your behalf when you visit myspace pages. Fiddler is a great tool for this: http://www.fiddler2.com/fiddler2/ - it is written by a program manager on the IE team.

Well, I saw nothing that I didn't know what it was for as far as add-ons. Robo-form, Adobe, Flash etc... I disabled them all, and tried it. Same issue.

Not so knowledgable, but seems my proxy setting aren't set? Automatic?

I'll have to look into fiddler. Not so sure I'll totally understand what info it will give me tho, haha... Maybe I'll surprise myself

Simple solution: Switch to firefox and remove IE.

I use Firefox. But, with MySpace, IE allows me to have several accounts open at once. Firefox only allows one at a time. If I open a seperate window or tab and log in to another account, it just opens with the account that's open already. I have to log out and go into each account seperately. PITA...

So, IE was handy for that. Plus.. Lotsa MySpace stuff doesn't render right in Firefox. They recommend it, yet don't write code that looks right in it, haha... Go figure.

It's IE rebelling against the stuff you have on your computer that isn't an MS product.

Don't think I have anything related to Apple... Other than that Bonjour service crap that runs in the background. But, that's pretty much MS these days as well right? I won't even run quicktime on my PC, I use Nero to play that stuff cuz I hate quicktime.

Pretty funny, was looking at Safari as an option, hahaha...

I hate piddling with simple unimportant shit that complicates doing some simple unimportant shit that requires a complex solution and me wasting time obsessing over it.... It's just friggin MySpace... Grr...

Worked fine till last week. Was hoping it was some ad shit they had sold to some company that was corrupting it and would go away when they ran a different ad...

Well, whatever it was, fixed itself.

Either bad coding on their behalf (who ever think that? haha..) or a bad 3rd party ad that was corrupting stuff.

Anyways...

upgrade to IE8...I use both FireFox and IE and IE8 is a nice improvement...

I cant stand myspace (aka..slowspace or gheyspace) and hardly ever use it

As I mentioned. I have diffferent PC's running IE 6, 7 and 8... They all were a problem with whatever that was. Ugh.

Personally, I like the 6 GUI still, other than security, some functionality and that it's obviously obsolete, haha... Not that amazed with 7 or 8 other than some misc cool things it can do. I prefer Firefox ito 8 really, prolly just used to the GUI more I spose. FF is probably safer security wise as well?

I have band stuff on myspace and often have a couple IE windows open with the pages. Firefox, you can only run one myspace control page at a time for some reason, tabbed or windowed...

Try Opera.

It may behave a little different than firefox with the different user-id's. Plus once you get user to using mouse gestures, surfing porn will never be the same again for you.
