  • Metal of the day - JUDAS PRIEST!!

This is the best Judas Priest performance EVER. In 1986, the Priest were at the top of their game! At this time Rob Halford cultivated his menacing "Metal God" image and wowed us with his energetic and awesome stage moves..

If you're not a devoted Judas Priest fan after watching this..you can't have a pulse!

Get on our knees and worhip the Metal Godz!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oqjR5...eature=related

Wassup Bro..I love Priest, and my bro Clevo- John is doing a tribute. I was kinda bustin' balls with these vids tho. Getting back at one of our new guys posting "album of the day" threads. Making me click to see Alice Cooper prancin' around in white long johns and thigh high leopard print boots. That's NOT how I want to remember Alice!!!

I don't think Rob Halford's Mullet, dancing around wearing suspenders was his "peak"..If ya know what I mean.

Primal Fear Rules..John and I saw them open for Halford and they were the best band of the night. Halford wasn't having a good night..He was pretty pissed off actually.

I am victim to your sarcasm...
No that wasn't Rob's peak, but I love all Priest, so I was game.

I'd love to see Primal Fear man!
          Hammerfall is another good one.

Primal Fear are working on a new album as we speak and it should be done by summer/fall.
I cant wait! I have all of their albums

Seeing "Halford" would be fuckin sweet too!
I love those 2 albums, and I kinda wish that Priest would go in that direction...

Cool, I love priest..always have and always will. I just remember that live version of Rob with Mullet and suspenders..and dancin around. That video was played to death on MTV.

Sad Wings of Destiny is one of my favorite Album covers...as well as Sabbath Bloody Sabbath. I think it's a toss up. Well, they're both Satanic..go figure.

Ugh... Priest... I can't believe I'm in a tribute... Never really was a fan after seeing them live in the 80s and they were terrible.

Glenn had a hard life. A blues guitarist that was thrown into serious metal guitar when VH, Randy and YJM came on the scene and had to "keep up" with the youngins. You can tell he struggles a lot trying to "shred" in the later years as the material grew complex to keep up with modern standards.

I'm analyzing a lot of their stuff. He has a rough time getting some of the later solos right live. Painkiller is a good example. He plays that differently all thetime and you can see he trashes it a lot if you look at the misc video.

Oour other guitarist Tony, is a duplicating it closer than I ever do and we both agree that it's hard to really duplicate some of that the stuff because he will build a solo around a riff or arpeggio sweep that he has down, but there's a lots of "crap" fumbling as he gets to the solid parts, and lots of punching in as he goes through getting the solo to tape.

It's hard for me to dupe that solo stuff, I tend to clean it up or play it in a more complex way than it really is... and the last guitarist used to laugh saying, "well, but I doubt KK could actually (physically) play it the way you're doing it" haha... I make too much out of it really.

They were classic players and writers tho and DEFINITELY laid the framework for metal as we know it. Much respect for the Metal Gods really.

I was never "deeply" into Priest when younger. I was on the Iron Maiden side of the fence. But I do have a lot of Priest CDs.

But lately I've been getting really into them. Love the guitar playing. Love the tone of the Marshalls. I think the tone on Point of Entry is one of my favorite Marshall tones.

Unfortunately that one of the CD's I still need to get.

So much of their material has sorta changed it's possible in my head meaning after Rob "came out"

Point of Entry... Jawbreaker... etc etc... hehe...

And watching the old videos... oh man, haha....
