I first saw Priest on the Hell Bent For Leather tour (yes, I'm that damn old!) and have been hook ever since. hey opened for UFO and blew them off the stage. I remember seeing Halford in his leather Jacket and Biker cap thinking, if that ugly MFer can make it, I know I got a chance.
My favorite Priest songs have always been Victim of Changes and Beyond the Realms of Death. The solo on BTROD has one of the coolest tones I've ever heard.
Yes Bobby, and do you know that I have all 16 Sinner cds starting with thier 1982 debut Wild N' Evil.
My two faves are "Judgement Day" and "Nature of Evil"..those are their two best IMO!
If it's good metal..I have it.
German Power metal bands like ..Grave Digger, Running Wild, and Rage have a huge catalog as well. I have that stuff too.
"Bill, Smoke a Bowl and Crank Van Halen I, Life is better when I do that"
Donnie Swanstrom 01/25/06..miss ya!
"Well, your friend would have Bell's Palsy, which is a facial paralysis, not "Balls Pelsy" like we're joking about here." Toejam's attempt at sensitivity.

Absolutely! I have several. Not the whole cataloge though unfortunately. They are a little hard to come by sometimes. I agree about Judgement Day and Nature of Evil though, they are my favorites as well. Use to play Blue Tattoo in another band years ago.
So much of their material has sorta changed it's possible in my head meaning after Rob "came out"
Point of Entry... Jawbreaker... etc etc... hehe...
And watching the old videos... oh man, haha....
I've posted it before but:
Rob Halford:I'll get my Jawbreaker Hard as Iron and Ram It Down his Electric Eye.
If you haven't figured out, I kinda like Judas Priest. It's the only band that fills my blues (Old stuff), arena rock (Think things like British Steel) and metal (Painkiller/ half of Ram It Down) cravings. If they branched into extreme metal I'd be set (Think Emperor).

I work with a woman who is about 5 feet tall and weighs close to 450 pounds and has more facial hair than ZZ Top." - Jack The Riffer

I first saw them on their "Unleashed In The East" tour, 79 or 78 not sure exactly. It was my first Metal experience and was hooked on Priest and Metal.
Peace, Love and Happieness and all that stuff...
"Anyone who tries to fling crap my way better have a really good crap flinger."
I personally do not care how it was built as long as it is a good playing/sounding instrument.
Oh man what great clips...I just heard Whitesnake and Priest are touring this summer..They are gonna be here July 3rd here FOR FREE. ....The taste of MN festival.I'm so pumped.Priest was the first band I ever saw live.Sept 28, 1979.They opened for KISS on the Dynasty tour...KILLER...

Yeah, it was late 78 when I saw them for the first time. Maybe it was the Unleashed tour and not Hell Bent for Leather. I just remember being blown away.
Ah, Judas Priest. Where can one start? My favorite album though I think is Sin After Sin, which imo was probably their most complete album, along with Defenders of the Faith. I really liked the stylistic changes through Sin After Sin though, and it has some just fantastic composition I don't think they ever quite hit on again.
Sin After Sin is a favorite of mine, too. But did you ever listen to the lyrics of Raw Deal? Playing rough with denim dudes in a gay bar on Fire Island?!? How come nobody caught on to Halford's gay biker image back then? :ROTF:
I feel my soul go cold... only the dead are smiling.
Turbo Lover Tour. That was recorded the night after I saw them in Houston. I still think that was the best show I ever saw. Dokken opened up for them and they kicked ass as well. You can see a lot of people in the video's with Dokken shirts on. I bought that video and play it more than any other videoI have.

Did you mean this? "Then and then the guys were fooling in the demin dudes
A couple cards played rough stuff, New York, fire island"
I made a spike about nine o'clock on a Saturday
All eyes hit me as I walked into the door
Then ??? and then the guys were fooling in the demin dudes
A couple cards played rough stuff, New York, fire island
I cased the joint, straining at the scenes
I moseyed up to the counter and the tender came a-grinnin'
I snapped the smile off his face and scowled "Give me a bourbon"
The mirror on the wall was collecting and reflecting
All the heavy bodies ducking, stealing eager for some action
The scene screwed me up, I saw some contact
Then the big boys, saw me and knew that
I'd had too much, floating around
Statues alive, seconds are hours
Sacks like a hurricane, wrapped in and shattered
I was barely holding on to this flying body symphony
I guess I dream in pictures, not colors
The true free expression I demand is human rights - right
I gave my life, I am immortal
I'm going, no loss
I'm going, no loss
I'm going, no loss
I'm going, no loss
Nightmare, just a bunch of goddamn, rotten, steaming, raw
Deal
I feel my soul go cold... only the dead are smiling.
SINNNEEEEEEERRR!!!!

I love the end of that song.

I love the intro scream from Dissident Aggressor, thats just classic, and probably the beginning of the 'metal scream'.
What do you guys think about the new Priest album?
Overall its a masterpiece, but I have to admit that I was let down because the material isnt as heavy as Angel Of Retribution was.
Maybe the next one will be like that?
What I dont like are the Snyth and the segues between each song...there's too much filler.
But as a whole, it's a complete 'picture' if that makes sense?
*Off topic question:
Does anyone have any Gamma Ray albums with Ralf Scheeper singing?
'Howling in shadows
Living in a lunar spell
He finds his heaven
Spewing from the mouth of hell'
