  • Craigs List Scammer

Well I have officially tried to be scammed on greenville sc craigs list. I have an item on there for sale and i get this e-mail saying they are interested in my guitar "Great. Is it still available or sold?.I am ineterested.Joanne [email protected]" So i reply that it is still avalible for sale and I accept cash and local meet only and then i get this e-mail "
    Rusty,

I would have loved us to meet mid way and complete this transaction as
I feel quite satisfied with the current state but I received a call last night regarding the promo I will be coordinating by April and I need to meet up with up the promo items supplies.
I dont know how urgent you need the cash,I would have advised that you wait till I come back and then we could meet may in the next three weeks as I need to travel this morning but if you can,t wait,I can instruct a client of mine who will be sending a payment for some promo items from GA to issue the certified check, money order or a cashier,s check in your name .All you need to do is give me your name in which a payment could be made payable and your forwarding address to I can send it across to him to do the needful.
Once I am back,I will arrange a pick up by a moving company.
To be sure you are selling for me remember to remove your posting from Craigslist to avoid getting mails from other interested buyers.
Feel free to send me emails at any time as I am on mobile network
    Awaiting your response
    Joanne [email protected] "

People are just stupid asses and think we are all stupid enough to just piss away our stuff to them haha So needles to say they didnt get $hit from me......BlitZ

This is a common scam and happens all over. I had a similar exchange with someone when I posted a GT8 n CL in Dallas. Stay away. Far away.

What's all this talk about promo items? I sometimes wonder how anyone falls for these scammers.

I got one, sort of like that in response to an ad I had on C.L. It was kind of broken english that barely made sense, and was asking about shipping to foreign destinations. I just ignored it, I don't mind shipping, as long as I'm comfortable with it.

I like how scammers call the thing you are selling an item or article. They never call it a guitar or amp or what it actually is. I tried to sell a guitar on Craiglist and got the same crap. I just don't get how these are even scams. They make no sense.

Wow. I had something similar regarding a Drum Set. Email said that they would send me a check and have a moving company come get the set. I told them that it wouldnt work and that I wasn't giving them the set until after the check has cleared. They were too busy at work to meet me somewhere.... at any time apparently... Needless to say I have not heard back from them.

That is all I got last time I tried CL. It sucks. "I'll send a check and an agent will pick up the item."

I just sent a reply letting them know I was wise to their scam and to try elsewhere. Never heard back.

Be without fear in the face of your enemies. Be brave and upright, that God may love thee. Speak the truth always, even if it leads to your death. Safeguard the helpless and do no wrong.

I still use C.L., it doesn't have the mass audience as the Fleabay, but were fees aren't ridiculous. Just have to use common sense I guess. Admittedly, I don't sell hardly anything, anyways.

Usually, I will get the e-mails throughout the nite 1am, 3am,5am or so that in itself seemed very odd to me also.
